I could really use this Buhler/Farm King 8ft hydraulic angle rear blade.

I saw this Buhler rear blade come up for sale on Craigslist a year or so ago and I thought about it, and thought about it, but knew that I was in the market for a 12ft folding cutter so passed. It's back up for sale and if it's a Series 80 like I think it is, it'll be hard to pass up this time around. I could really use this in the winter behind the M6060 to push snow away from the edge of the driveway, and to move gravel and dirt the rest of the year.

A new Land Pride RBT3596 with hydraulics is $4,775 and this Buhler is a heavier model and at least $1k less. I emailed the seller to confirm the model and am already looking at the optional gauge wheels. No doubt it's already sold and for half the asking price!

Farm King is made in Canada, and from what I've seen, just about every implement made in Canada is of high quality.

That looks very similar to my Bison blade. It’s built much heavier than the equivalent Landpride model. I’m very pleased with it and if the farm king is still available at a good price, you should buy it.

I remember looking at Bison rear blades after one of your posts about them. Once the seller gets back to me I can arrange to take a look if it's still available. A fully hydraulic rear blade has been on my wish list for a while now. Do you have gauge wheels on yours since it's very heavy. Just wondering if they're helpful or even necessary with such a beast of a blade.

It looks like it comes with suitcase weights too!

I don't like the gauge wheels for them for dirt work, they don't work that well unless you get the long frame version.
But they might help with snow duty to keep them from digging too deep.
And that is a really nicer blade!

The seller got back to me via text this evening. He's out of town until late Thursday and told me I can take a look after 5.30pm on Friday which means it'll be dark. He also mentioned that someone else is interested so at this stage I'm not going to get excited about it. I'll see what happens later in the week.

Oh yeah, he didn't know what model it is exactly despite stating in the add "$7,500 new". I still think it's a Series 80 though.

I don’t have gauge wheels on mine, but it’s an option. I just got the hydraulics and need to install the cylinders and hoses to the blade. I missed the boat to do this since we just received 16” of snow last week and my. cutter is still on the tractor and I’m away on vacation. When I return, I’ll remove the cutter and get the blade set up. My 8’ Bison blade is 1025# and so far I haven’t needed gauge wheels; that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be useful. I prefer to plow snow with the blade turned backwards and floated on the ground. The weight does a good job of holding the blade down and the reverse moldboard removes snow without disturbing my gravel.

I have an appointment to see the rear blade at 5pm this afternoon and spoke with the seller this morning. He mentioned that he can load it for me using his wheel loader so now I'm a little more optimistic that I could actually own this thing.

I got some quotes on Land Pride rear blades such as the RBT3596 and RBT4596, and given the cost, I don't plan on haggling much if at all for this blade if it looks as good as the photos. My plan is to hand over a deposit and pick it up next week if all goes well.

One thing I would mention, is that I have a LP BB with hydraulics…it sags and it’s been a pain for me to hook it up with a QH. IMO it’s easier without the QH. (I bought it because it was a an absolute steal that I knew I would want some day). But admittedly I’ve only done it a few times and it’s not parked on level concrete. Point being is if planning to use your QH if check on that and whether it sags or not…and if it fits your WH…it’s not a deal breaker and you have more than enough fabrication capability to solve that, but I thinks it something to consider. Top n tilt may make that a non issue. Once it gets hooked up it’s awesome. I think you will appreciate it. If you have the tool it’s a great use of your rear hydraulic connections.

Anyway good luck I hope you find it hooks up and priced appropriately.

The cylinders are huge and look to be in great condition. All six hoses appear to have the correct fittings on them to hook up to the remotes on the M6060. I'll probably pull the weights off since this beast is around 1,000 lb. Overall the condition is commensurate with an implement that was new around 2008 and has been sitting outside all of its life and used fairly infrequently. I settled on 2008 since that was when the rear blades changed from Buhler to Buhler/Farm King, and around 2010 the implements became Allied/Farm King. I dowloaded the manual for this 8096 from Allied's website.

I'll get with you next spring and pick your brain re gauge wheels. Seems to me that this blade with those wheels way behind the tractor could do a good job of flattening out an undulating driveway, acting more like a road grader. Cutting a level surface can be a challenge with an implement hanging off the 3-point.

Thanks. I forgot to measure the Buhler 3-point hitch dimensions yesterday but the specs are that it's CAT 2. Both the QH10 and QH15 have the CAT 1 spacing on the lower hitch which is around 28-1/4". CAT 2 spacing is 34" so I don't think it's QH compatible, which is ok with me.

I've arranged to pick up the rear blade tomorrow afternoon/evening. One of the first things I want to do once it's home is to drain all of the oil out of the cylinders and hydraulic hoses, for peace of mind if nothing else. Then I can hook it up, grease it, touch up some paint, add Outback hose wrap and test it out.

When I was kid I pushed a lot of snow at my folks business and the small town I lived in with a three point blade. IN my adult life I have owned two three point blades both were Rhino brand a 8Ft one and then a 1540 10 Ft with rear gauge wheel. Bought both used from guys that never used them and I sold them for the same reason. That 1540 was a monster of a blade and you needed a tractor with four remotes to run it right. I just like front mount blades and that's what my 100 HP skid steer is for.
