Not at all. If anything it is way off the other way.

We KNOW that over 50% never present any symptoms at all (and this is only on the ones they could test, most that had no symptoms would have no reason to get tested). So the number that have "had covid" is much higher. Making the surviving rate that much higher as well.
You can't use the US population as a whole in your calculation since covid is not currently uniformly distributed. There are a lot of people who are not infected, and in fact have not been exposed or tested. Sure they are asymptomatic. Where did you get the 50% from? A variety of numbers have been bandied about. Depends on specific sample I would think.

How many fake numbers are OK? Is there any amount that will have you say this is BS?

I guess my BS meter is a little more tightly calibrated.

Sleddog, I have the perception that you are living in the world of alternative facts, and it is different from mine. I find data from sources outside the country, and publications from journals I trust. Can they be wrong, yes, but it is the nature of science to have an erratic course. Are people hyping things yes. Are there errors, yes. Is the whole 9 yards bs, and a hoax? Absolutely not. How could it be and involve the whole world? We will just have to agree to disagree.

Cool. So with you a LOT of fake numbers are acceptable. That is not my perception, but reality.

Quick question, do you think the states lowering what is considered fever - 100.4 (for the first time ever) will increase the hospital admissions as Covid patients or decrease them?

One of the nursing homes my wife has patients in has 100% positive for COVID and no one is presenting any symptoms. The only reason it was found was because of state mandated testing of all facilities. Only the Good Lord knows how many of us out in the real world have or have had it.

CDC says today that Covid 19 deaths/death rate DOESN'T rise to the level of a Pandemic.

Bottom line with me is, I heavily discount everything published in the Net anyway and do what I (we) feel will provide the best mitigation and so far, my wife and I are Covid free and plan to stay that way.

I see our Governor is considering closing the bars again and possibly the auto plants as well.

We don't do bars but I can see that actually. How do you social distance in a bar? How do you wear a mask in a bar? You don't and from what I've read, bar owners don't enforce the rules anyway. Good example was the East Lansing bar a couple weeks ago. How many positives from that, 50?

Wife also read a comment on Facebook (I don't do that either) that FCA in Toledo (Jeep) is loaded with positive cases. She read that FCA was supposed to keep the plant clean and sequester assembly line workers and did NOTHING. Don't know if Michigan auto plants are like that in as much as I'm retired but makes me wonder.

Positives and deaths are ticking up again here. Michigan seems to be reporting in a timely and honest manner, unlike some states and countries.

This cracks me up. You start with this and then go on to list a bunch of stuff from the "net" to be scared of.

I have spent way too much time lately worrying about (fill in the blank). I am going to spend the day today worrying about who is behind the crop circles. I have read a bunch of stuff about them on the internet. Sure, sure a lot of it is made up and sensationalized, but you need to look past all that because they are real. I just need a little break.

Stay safe everyone.

D2 the "paper" referenced by this piece of anti vaxxer yellow journalism is not a real publication at all but rather a vague description of a proposed research project. Don't start to worry about it yet, the title is totally misleading. The sky may fall too. Look carefully at the linked publication.
Are the links to the FDA reporting yellow journalism also?

To all you cupcake mask wearers:
One month after statewide mask mandate, California's daily COVID case average has increased by 162%
Now, I'm a bit skeptical about the numbers, I thought it should be over 200%.
