Nothing changes for Amy and I. Going to wear a mask when going out (rarely), latex gloves when pumping gas or diesel. Wiping my credit card with sanitizer after using it. Baking cash in the oven...lol Social (non social) distancing and avoiding contact of any kind with strangers.

I even replaced the cab filter on my M9cab with the (expensive) charcoal filter. Needed replacement anyway.

Fauci and Brix keep saying it's too soon as well, but the 'natives' are restless. I believe a lot of them will succumb this next time around.

The 'new normal' and the old normal are 2 distinctly different animals.

I didn't get my NM elk draw permit. Fine with me. If I had, I'd probably not go anyway. I can kiss off 800 bucks and stay healthy. As is is, I don't have to. When I saw the 'unsuccessful' notation on the draw results, I was much happier. I get 800 bucks back minus 45. Good with that.

Montana and Nebraska have closed off any hunts to non-residents. Only Nebraskans and Montana residents can hunt there now.

I also believe the day of the 7-10 grand out west hunts is done. One, the only hunters that can afford the price of admission are older hunters that can afford it and with retirements going south, the funding has basically dried up and two, those hunters are more concerned with staying alive now.

Finally, I suspect those hunts will become pretty cheap in the coming years, if the states even allow non residents to hunt. The outfitted hunt business is big business and outfitters depend on it for a lively hood. They have to drip their prices to stay alive or go bankrupt.

I bet next year an outfitted hunt will cost maybe 2 grand instead of 7-10.

Still got a Maine Moose outstanding with a ton of preference points and the Moose hunt is still on so I have an excellent chance of drawing that. I do have a very distinct advantage in Maine as my very good friend and his wife live east of Bangor and he's a state certified trapper and knows all the good spots plus we would stay at his place, so no outfitter needed. Why we play Maine, besides, unlike NM, it's cheap for a draw permit. 30 bucks versus 800.

Singapore is coming here, make book on it. least here in the USA, not sure about Canada. This 'opening up' the country is way too soon. We can visit this comment in 6 months.

I believe it will carry a lot of weight then.
In my opinion, and others, we shouldn't have locked down to begin with, partial maybe. Now how do countries get out of lockdown? Every time they try the virus will start again.

As I mentioned in a previous post, the covid virus can cause clotting disorders. Young people who are relatively or completely asymptomatic are having strokes. This is a collection of case reports, not a peer reviewed study yet, but take home message is get to an er asap if you have any symptoms of a stroke. These young folks may not all die but are not recovering from these massive strokes. :(

Plenty in Maine, plenty. Besides, I don't leave the country and Maine is a cheap date for me with my good friend being a Maine licensed trapper and guide, I get away much cheaper.

The big issue with Moose is getting the meat out and processed. Mooses are huge and the animal weighs a ton so getting one out is always a chore.

Ever since Canada tightened up, I haven't been back. I have an enhanced drivers license but I've never used it.

All well and good so long as you don't get it......:)

Don't like the term 'lockdown' at all. No one (here) is locked down that I know of. It's all voluntary or at least for the most part, it is. We can come and go as we please but use common sense which ism for the most part, sadly lacking today.

You get it, I bet you'll be singing a different tune, if you survive that is.

Most will get it, it’s just a matter of when. Lockdown will slow it, it will spike again coming off lockdown when and where that happens. Some testing is showing there are 50-70 TIMES as many who have had it than they they thought.

No I hope I don’t get it bad.

At this point I don't think anyone knows. It will burn itself out but when, who knows. The politicians, and I have no love for any of them are in a tough spot. Make the right decision and they look like heroes, make the wrong one and more people are infected. With summer and warm weather coming they know and we all know there is no way people are gonna stay locked up in their homes. This spring I sold my old outboard and bought a new one because I'm lucky enough to live on the water and I know that the only way I'd be staying home is to be able to get out of this cottage. Tough times ahead, I hope not, better times I'm all in. :D

So long as it's not a party boat, you are all good.

Time and a place for everything but no at my age not in a boat, strictly fishing and shore lunches with my 2 little buddy's.
I can handle canoeing or rafting on the river. Or even a boat on the lake. But my equilibrium can't handle being on the ocean any more :(

Last two times I've tried the ocean, I've gotten sea sick.

Good thing you said, if you 2 had of come this way chances are I would have you guys in the boat. Normally it's not too bad out in front in the cove.

I should be fine in that. First boat ride last summer was parasailing. I was fine going up, it was the going down that got me. Also between the large swells and the heat. It was 100° out

Second time was in the mid fall in the same area. They had an Indian summer. 100 flipping degrees again on a deep sea fishing boat. Between the heat and the diesel fumes my stomach was done.
