I'm not sure where you're going with this. I believe covid is far from being done. Been a long time since the world has been in such a turmoil with no end in sight. There are vaccines for pneumonia although not 100% effective and I'm sure many will refuse to take it but at least there is something. Pneumonia has been with us for many years and Covid has only been around for months and there is still not a lot known about it so we don't really have any idea what the effects will be in years to come even if a vaccine is found. I guess what I'm trying to say is one doesn't lessen the other. One death from either one is one too many, after all it is someones loved one and it hurts no matter what the cause.

All the best my friend, I do appreciate your effort to help keep the rest of us informed.
Bearbait, I'm not trying to go anywhere with the post. It just seems to give some idea of what goes on around us all the time. Not trying to minimize anyone's death. Whether it's flu, covid, auto crash, suicide, abortion or anything else it's a statistic we need to know. It's very difficult to effectively manage one's life if real numbers are not available. The numbers impact change from many different angles.

An example, in Kansas City they are setting records for homicides this year. It is only known because records of past years have been recorded. So the mayor ask for help. The federal government sent in 100 folks to help solve the cases. As you may guess, folks are protesting them being there!

I am intrigued by the human psyche. People kill people. Some people want the killing to stop. When help arrives to help get the killers off the street, people complain about it!

Wild animals solve their problems better then humans.

Only difference is humans can rationalize which is their downfall.

Ever see a lead mare push a young colt way out to the edge of a field when it's "misbehaved"? That mare has the instinct to keep that young animal there until the young one knows it's in trouble staying alive if it doesn't get back in the herd. The mare lets the young one back in the group, and behavior changes!!!

Humans have too many rules and worries about offending a young one, so we let them grow up spoiled, lazy, unmotivated, and wanting a handout.

You're on a roll ol' buddy, once again I couldn't agree more. From what I see they're not doing the kids any favors nor anyone else. This I want, I want, I want is growing a little old. Same here as for the stabbings, shooting and murders, pretty much a daily thing. Folks aren't dealing with stress well, at least before all this covid stuff when folks got to feeling down they could hop on a plane and leave the real world behind even if were only for a week or 2 but it was enough to keep most in check. Now no where to run and no where to hide from the real world and the worst of that is it's only been months, what's gonna happen if this drags on for years?

How about we just let those not wanting to wear a mask where it’s been decreed by health officials as critical, go their own way?—with the stipulation they agree to a waiver of treatment that states they will of course be treated if they do become ill, but only so after those patients who had agreed to wear one. Sort of like the gene pool getting that needed shock of chlorine, if you will.
You seem to think wearing a mask PROTECTS the wearer against CV19; I suggest you educate yourself about masks.

It's a strange world out there lads....over here in Europe it's the very same thing.

Spoilt kids that have never read a history book, tearing down statues..... Offended at anyone with a differing opinion....I guess they never knew a family member that fought for the freedoms that they are now so upset with.
A media driving a one way divisive narrative.
News is full of riots and covid death rates.
Covid numbers falling and restrictions increasing.
Anyone questioning the current approach branded as a granny killer.
That's why this website is so refreshing. Friendly discourse and everyone's opinions respected regardless of agreement.

I suppose having an open season on news teams would be frowned on would it?😉

I absolutely get that the mask is more so for keeping those from spewing out stuff, but my rationale was really that maybe a few more dummies out there might instead be incentivized into actually doing the right thing, as opposed to taking some stand over such nonsense as to their right not to wear a mask. This isn’t ‘Greatest Generation’ sacrifice stuff we’re talking about...just take some accountability.

Baa; Baa. All you Sheeple get in rank and file; toe the line, and other foolishness. BY WEARING A MASK AND SOCIAL DISTANCING YOU ARE PROLONGING THE PANDEMIC. Want to make CV19 last longer than the Spanish Flu; WEAR YOUR MASKS. All I hear is "flatten the curve" which simple means PROLONG CV19. Time will tell. BUT, if I'm forced by penalty of Law, then I will wear this mask.
Trump Mask.jpg

After all, this mask thing and CV19 will go away after Nov 3rd.

How about all the people trying to make this outbreak last as long as possible be denied care? And all the rest of us willing to shoulder the burden not be scorned and made fun of, but thanked.

This has nothing to do with freedom (I know the media is fixated on the mask right now and pushing that talking point) this is about not keeping parents locked up (going on a year now) longer than necessary. Wearing a mask will just prolong how long they need be "locked up".

Do you wear a mask for the regular flu? The current approach will only make it last longer.
