OK. I'm happy to report that I've completed all the wiring on the BX25D.




Yep. It took all day and most of this evening but it's done. I snapped some photo's for you all to look at. As you'll see I installed an auxiliary 6 cavity fuse panel. It's relayed so that power will only be on the fuses when the key is on.
I also snapped a few photo's of some GM weather pack solder-less terminals that I used. Some might not have see these used before so I wanted to include them in the photo's. You'll notice there's a special crimping tool that's need to crimp the little pins but I like these and use them a good bit. 95% of all the wiring was soldered and heat shrinked. I am not a fan of stab loc connectors but I do use butt connectors where it's dry and away from water.

I used waterproof switches for everything. I also installed a horn, reverse alarm with a by-pass switch so it could be deactivated when ever I didn't want it on. I installed the horn switch towards the said of the instrument panel due to lake of space but it's easy to reach there so I'm OK with it. I put in an extra accessory outlet and the tactical light on the ROPS is working now as is the 20" LED light bar. The ditch lights are absolutely awesome now that they are working. I also got the back hoe lights wired in and they are very nice as well. The 6 cavity fuse panel was just enough to get it done. I put a disconnect on the back hoe with harness because when I go to let the hoe go from the back of the tractor I'd need to be able to split the wiring.

Anyway I hope you enjoy the photos. I'm using a new camera and it's taking some getting used to so bare with me.

@ wildfire: On the last picture I see, you use some self sticking mounts for tie-raps. We use them also, but even in a room with aircon they do not really last long. Maybe they need some special glue...

Carl I used to have the same problem with them as well but I found a supplier that sells them with 3-M two way tape on them and I haven't had a problem since. They cost three time the price but good quality. I would have liked to put the wiring inside the ROPS but we all know we shouldn't drill though the ROPS

It's a new tractor. I didn't lie about that. Well its new to me! I collect and restore pedal cars, tractors, planes and boats. Never had a Kubota pedal tractor

The paint doesn't quite match on the new tractor so I'm guessing either a paint job or going to use the new one for a pattern and build his own from scratch.

I bought a toy tractor for my 3-year old daughter and she likes to cruise around in the backyard. It is a cheap china toy, but still working.

@wildfire: If you fill up your museum with this things, don't you think, you need more space for more stuff. Maybe that's the reason for the BX25. Need to clear the backyard for bigger museum...

I've had her trying the new BX and she seems to like it so I'm sure she will get to use it more and more.

Hum. Some good points and observations. Actually this tractor was won by its owner. Up here they go for $200. Plus but I got this one for $30. So I'm hoping to have a grandchild some day and he or she will have a Kubota as well

OK here's the latest mod. I didn't see much interest in the shots I posted on the first part of building this latest mod so I'll just cut to the chase and post the finished product.

I'm calling this mod "Stihl Here".

Yes I blocked one way to exit the machine BUT I've never got out on the right side of a machine even when I operated BIG heavy equipment. To many obstacles in the way. Yes some might ask what IF you have to jump clear of the machine? Well as an operator we were always told the safest place for you to be in the case of a roll over is on the machine. You go to jump clear you get run over with the machine.

Now that we got that out of the way here's my solution to storing my chainsaw on the tractor. I have all the leg room I need, It's in easy reach in a convenient location. It's strong and I'm happy with it. It took a bit of milling, drilling, countersinking and welding but it was a nice little project. I also included a storage area for an axe.
