damn nice set up!!! real nice, as with all typed words, there is a great way to see it differently than intended.....I often get my ass twisted when i send my wife an email, seems the words speak something differently than the gestures would have....

Some of us see's different value in different things.

I for one love my older tractors that I rebuilt. I fab my own attachments, mods, and equipment for them. I don't have the skill level or talent of Wildfire (Sorry, but your way up there sir!), but I'm happy with what I can make with the talent and tools that I do have.
I can't see spending a lot of $$ on something that I can make myself for less. I do not have the nicest equipment around, But it works well and I'm happy with it.

Don't take it to harshly when some says they think something's too much of an expense, because for them it just might be.
I for one can't afford a 3 to 4 thousand dollar cab.... Heck couldn't even afford a 3 to 4 thousand dollar tractor, so I did the next best thing and by one for cheaper and built it up.

99% of us on here have the best of intentions in our postings, and I didn't read or assume any negativity directed toward you!

OK, I get it, and thank you all.

Now back on track,

Curtis Cab , says you have to fill in any cracks on your own to stop air flow. This is what I did on Thanks Giving morning before my wife got up.

Here is my first attempt:

MR. Gasket Co., part #9648, got it at "Advanced Auto Parts"
Use heat gun, and pull over the top. Use foam sticky tape, to fill in the top around shaft.

Please excuse the mud, but I have to prove that my upgrade works.

The roof tilts up, and the back wall comes off and was designed by Curtis Cab for the Backhoe operations. The doors lift off as well as the back wall. No issues or time needed to take any of the three parts off for long or short term usage.

Thanks for the feedback.

I too don't have the skill that WildFire has, so as you can see, I only did bolt on upgrades to my BX. I did all of these after work , and painted each part to make them look factory installed.

It took all night and two weeks to finish this project. I was very focused and determined to be done before winter set in.

Thanks for the updated photos, especially showing the different configurations. Quite impressive! As much as I hate Winter (Yeah, I know, I'm a wimp), which isn't that bad here (Mid-Alantic) compared to other places, having a rig like that could/would make it much more bearable and make me consider a move to "Cold" country. Being a retired OTR driver of 42 years, give me a cab, Sirius, and controls of a fun machine and my wife would never see me. Congratulations on your upgrade and enjoy what I know will be hours of pleasure.

I noticed you moved your lights to the ROPS. Was the bolt long enough to make it thru both tubes or did you need to modify it. I like that idea and it gets them up where they can be seen. I live on a very busy highway and even in the blowing snow people pass my house at 60 mph so getting them above the snow banks would be a much better idea. Cab looks awesome.

Hazard light move: The bolt is long enough, but base will need to be cut. study pictures closely. Iwanted to be seen better when on the roads and in the woods.

remove lights and grind /cutoff all the black base Pic 1
extend wires to top of ROPS. Soldering+quick disconnects at top, Pic 2
Drill, paint, install lights and seal with silicon and shrink rap wires Pic 3

From what I have seen and I am sure you will hear about. I do believe you have violated the warranty on your ROPS by drilling through it. I understand it is a NO NO. It is yours and if you are ok with it that is all that matters.

Overall I gotta say nice work. I do like what you have done with your play toy

I would also note that one should never drill into or weld onto the ROPS, it does effect the structural integrity of the device, and keeping things safe is the ROPS job!

I am working on closing up control lever arms on each side of the seat next, so I will post pictures when I am done.

Closing up air gap on left side of seat

remove rubber handles
make a templet out of paper and card board
cut out rubber mat
trim rubber mat to fit
cut out line for handles to move in
Tape or glue down rubber mat

I decided to go a different way, for closing the air gaps , on the control levers on both sides of the seat.

FOAM TAPE.

Finished the three levers under the seat

Cut up a rubber mat I had, cut to fit and used silicon water proof glue , done.

There is a rubber mat cut to fit under the seat also.

That should just about be all I need to keep the heat in.

For all the guys who say it is hot in the summer:

The doors are on jeep hinges and lift off in seconds and also the back wall lifts off also in seconds after unlatching it.

Now you have three sides off but the roof and front windsheild stay on.

The fan in the over head console is very helpful staying cool in the heat, and the cd/radio will give you music to work by.

Yes you do need ear protection for the noise level. Unless you go ahead and put sound deadening material under the engine hood and all over the inside of the cab.

great install , here's some random observations /comments.

If its that loud I don't think I would have bothered with the radio?

The foam in the slots for the levers is way better than the rubber boot.

I don't cut five acres of grass with this tractor, my wife uses the big zero turn for that.

I use the radio/CD player, all the time when working out side of the tractor in the woods or in the barn or just riding down the road.

Even while driving and with my ear protection on, you can still here it just fine.

Listening to music, makes the time working go by faster and I must hear "THE OHIO STATE" football games while out on the back forty.

If it wasn't worth it for me , I would have been honest and said so , but so far I have not had any buyers regrets.

The foam idea was just something I thought of after making just one of the rubber mats and said "there has to be a faster way to take care of this issue".

I am headed to Lowes, to pickup some black foam tape to make it look even better, so I will post pictures when it is all done right this time.

Thank you for the comments on the sound.

I have be thinking of adding sound deadning material, for under the hood and in the cab on all the walls and floor.

This will have to be done while I am on vacation in two weeks, when I have more time to put into that project. Just looking for the right stuff because there is so many different mateial out there to pick from. I want mine to look like the inside of WildFires, L5740
