If this counts, then yes! 1972 John Deere 310, 3,330 hours. I've since removed the cab and installed an original canopy. Owning a backhoe has been a dream since childhood, and this tops the cake. Less money than a loader and backhoe for my 790, and much more power.

I had to have a backhoe and I love it…my b26tub came plumbed for the thumb so it was an easy decision to add that…cost $1300 from Kubota…I kinda like this yard glider I bought

They are expensive, but I dont think I could live without mine after having it. Wish I had the $$$ for a mini excavator though...

While a mini excavator is in a class by itself, there are two really great Kubota dedicated TLB options.
They are the L47 TLB (10' dig), and the M62 TLB (14' dig)

I remember when the sales guy said, I can save you x amount of money if you dont get the backhoe! I said the hoe is a must and the main ticket item I want!

Just thought I'd see what actual backhoe owners thought about their purchase.
You need another two options:
"My CUT/SCUT backhoe is too small to be useful for the jobs I want it for"
and
"It's better than nothing"

I'd rather use a full sized construction TLB as my goto but have work site space restrictions. I find my CUT BH under sized, slow hydraulics, and under powered. Since I settled on using only one machine so it's better than nothing.

Does this count? You didn't say tractor mounted!
I did not consider those when I posed the question. So I would say "no"

I was thinking specifically of tractor mounted ones, just because they get the "bad rap" of being "ridiculously priced".

But that sure looks handy, and is way better than a shovel. (y)

I have a BX23S and absolutely love having the backhoe. It was a requirement. I've used it more than the FEL.
It think this describes me as well.

Don't get me wrong, all my implements have their place, but I think "time on the hoe" is at, or possibly has surpassed, time in the drivers seat.

Even though my tractor is 'tiny' it saves me a lot of work. Small FEL is a lot easier than a spade and wheel barrow. Small BH is a lot easier than a spade or my back!
If money was tight, I can see not justifying the addition of a BH because I use it rarely. You cannot take it with you but it can dig the hole for me!

Just thought I'd see what actual backhoe owners thought about their purchase.
It's a very small percentage of the people who own tractors. Basically, it's statistically insignificant for tractor owners no matter which selection "wins".

I find this poll kind of like asking anyone else who spent a lot of money for something if they like it. Almost all will say yes! Otherwise, they'd have to admit their mistake.

Seriously though, I see backhoes on properties when I drive around. They are almost never attached to a tractor.
