This is one that fits my my L2900 & L3010. I don't know if it will fit newer machines. You might try reaching out to your local Kubota dealer and asking if they make a "toplink reinforcement kit" for your particular machine.

I took a look at my MX and there are four threaded holes on top of the rock shaft housing. It would be a challenge for me to get bolts into those holes because of the cab and lack of clearance, but for an open station it would be easy. If a plate isn't available it wouldn't be hard to make something. I'm not saying that the MX needs it, but extra strength wouldn't be a bad thing.

Agreed. I'm thinking they made this back in the day when the three-point backhoe was as common as the subframe backhoe.

I went back and took another look at the tractor. I found no other cracks, but did find damage to the right side seat mount base and corresponding damage on the right lift arm. Whatever happened the 3 point lift arm/arms were thrust upward beyond their limits (see photo).

Can anyone give a labor estimate? Just want to try and have an idea of costs before we get an estimate from the dealer.

As mentioned above, the rule (unwritten or otherwise) is if you borrow it and damage it you (the borrower) either fix it (or get it fixed) like new or replace it. In that paradigm, the borrower is doing all this leg work. Given they’ve been neighbors for 40 years, I’m thinking the borrower is 60 plus years old, so he knows this rule.

But maybe you folks are just dealing with it so you know it’s done right and the borrower is writing the check. Stuff happens. How it is dealt with shows the character of the parties. You guys are looking pretty good.

Looking close at the above posts about reinforcing brackets, none of them state they fit GCMKCM's L3800.

It seems that for those brackets to be designed and available from Kubota "after the fact" is an acknowledgement that these models were not as strong as they should have been in that area. When a dealer gets involved maybe they can ask Kubota if any factory help is possible.

I was told Kubota no longer sells the the heavy duty top plate but that might have been a story my dealer told me.... Here's the one I bought, had to modify it a wee bit. I welded my top plate "ears" on it... I bought longer bolts for both top and rear bolts.

This was done when I had a 3 point backhoe... I never mounted it and gave the backhoe way for free... Kept the Heavy Duty Top Plate on. The plate is bent over the back and little triangle supports are welding on. Pretty soild and was $143 or so... (back in 2006-ish)

As to why not 'factory standard equipment', not every tractor owner uses the 3PH ! Heck, my BH has never been off, 3PH kit never installed in 6 years. Some tractors are 'loader' configured so no PTO out back OR 3PH rockshaft. . Back in '57 the option was 1 hole bracket or 3 hole bracket. None was factory standard.
The MX in #050 seems to have 'lots' of room to get bolts in. Easy access to the rear, worst case for fronts, drill 2 holes in the cab floor, use plastic cap plugs to fill the holes.
I used 3/8" plywood to make the 'pattern' for my 3 hole version top link plates. Since I fixed friend's CNC machine, he made them for me. The 'trick' is to get the 'numbers' into the CNC right,after that maing 1,10,100 is the same..load steel, press 'go' button,have a coffee.

In today's world an Autocad or similar drawing file is all the CNC shop needs. I do 2D steel and aluminum flatwork parts from DXF files all the time. Its cheap and fast!!
