Just an update - was able to blow snow in -14 degree temps today. Took the tractor quite a while to warm up and quit blowing white smoke. Smoking quit after warm, but was losing power under snow load. Just not running normally.

Spoke to closest Kobota dealer in Alex today (1 1/2 hour away). He is going to be in the area next week and plans to stop by and pick up tractor and go through things. He thought it may be something related to the regeneration process and heat?

Merry Christmas to you all. Thanks for your guidance!

One of the members on here sells a winter cover for the front and sides of the engine. His name escapes me but I'm sure he or one of the other members can chime in.

Did someone mention "WinterFront Covers"? :)

I still make them for a few of the smaller Kubota models. (now found out the 3560LE covers will also fit the Grand L 6060 and other Grand L '60 series as well.)

@Ottertail here is a link to the covers I make for your LX3310
and a link to the For Sale models

I was moving snow this morning with the actual temp of -16°F and was toasty warm in my homemade cab and engine temp in the 3-4 segment range. I wasn't working the tractor too hard either.

I hope you get your tactor issues resolved. If interested in a set of my covers....just send me a message. I try to keep a set or two of the popular models on hand ready to ship.

I'm just outside of Grand Forks, ND. On my B2650 the covers benefits are:
Very quick warmups,
Keeps the whole engine compartment warm (including the fuel tank)
Helps keep the hydraulic fluid warm (that cooler sits out front of the radiator)
Cab heater output is raised considerably in our cold winter temps
Keeps snow out of the front air intake
I've never had to worry about fuel gelling even when operating in -25 to-35°F temps.
Keeps the engine oil warm enough to boil off any accumulated condensation

If by chance you know of someone in the GF area or find your way up here, you could pick up a set yourself or I could get one to someone traveling down your way.

Anyone interested in covers for their tractor.....shoot me a message.

David

PS thanks for the heads up, SGR & Fordtech !!

Thought I'd update my thread. After a call with closest dealer in Alexandria, MN (1 1/2 hour away), he was pretty certin my issue was deisel related. I drained fuel system one more time this morning. The deisel was a very yellow color. Put #1 deisel in (a very clear color) with some addtive. Just spent an hour cleaning up yard and she is purring. Lesson learned with regard to where I buy my deisel. ;)

Holy cow birddogger, I grew upin Grand Forks and now work in Fargo, but have a home we spond most of our time at in Ottertail County, MN. Still have family in GF. Does your cover fit my 3310? I'd sure purchase one if so!

Thanks to all for your quick support and guidance!!!

Yes, that's my thought too S-R-G, even though I went into gas station to verify it was #1. Lesson learned!

I assume it is "ok" to run run straight #1 deseil throughout the winter months? Is that the concensus, or is "winter blend" a better option? Hate to burn up the pistons running it too hot.

Hey Joel,
Yes the covers custom fit your LX3310. Select this link LX3310 Winterfront Covers
See post #1 and #10 for pics. If interested....send me a message. Or better yet....when in Grand Forks, take a look personally! If you have family from here going to Fargo, I can get a set of covers to them to take along for the short trip south.

Glad to hear you have the fuel issue solved!! Especially with the cold and snow storms we've been having! It's never fun to have those kinds of issues!

I'm catching up with orders and will have a set of covers with your name on them if and whenever you'd like. :)

Regards,
David

Here in northern lower peninsula of Michigan it is 99% #2 diesel. The good sellers have it treated starting in November. I believe it costs an extra .02/gal. I sold diesel for 14 years.

In my personal stuff, Duramax and tractor, I still put the white Power Service stuff in my fuel.
I never had a problem with truck or tractor.

I've never had a problem with any tractors getting up to operating temperatures and staying there, and we see -30F at times, but -10F to -15F is common in the winter months. The M6060 warms up really quickly compared to the MX, but I never had a problem with the BX, the MX open station or either of the tractors I have now.

I wonder if the HST plays a part in the fact that the MX takes noticeably more time to get up to temperature. The M engine has greater displacement but they're both 4 cylinder engines.
