I just bought my first tractor!

I researched the JD dye before I put it in and everything I read said it was safe. I have ran it for quite a while now. Yup, guards are super important. I ordered and just received a 2x4 piece of 11ga metal that I will be making a grill guard and hydraulic block guard for my 2502. Just waiting...

I just bought my first tractor!

Yeah the 2502 has a dip stick in front floor board. I put the red dye in it mainly to help me see if I get a leak. I use my tractor mainly in my woods maintaining trails, clearing brush and doing firewood work. I have a high probability of snagging a line....

I just bought my first tractor!

I think you will do just fine with this tractor. They are a very simple tractor with not much to go wrong. It has basically no electronics on it or emissions junk to worry about. I would not be scared of the hydraulics not showing up. The fluid is so clear that it may be full and you just can't...

I just bought my first tractor!

I think this is a fair deal. I see used low hour (under 100) 2501's being sold in my area regularly for 16-17K. There is a 2023 2501 DT with under 100 on FB marketplace by me for $15K right now. So 19,500 with the attachments you got seems fair. My nephew is buying a like new 4701 HST with...

grapple.. and stump bucket question for L2502

I have the Homestead Implements Pinnacle grapple for my 2502. It's a very well made grapple and serves me well for my uses. It took me about 6 weeks to get it from order to delivery. Catawba makes really nice grapples too and from what I understand, most folks are getting them within 2 weeks of...

New member and question on a 3rd function kit

So my valve is mounted on the fender right beside the 3 point You're right, you lose the ability to operate the loader AND the grapple at the same time because I have to take my hand off of the loader valve to open/close the grapple. For me this hasn't been a real problem. But I have never...

New member and question on a 3rd function kit

For the cost of those kits you could pretty much buy a two spool valve AND a top link cylinder an have a 3rd function and a hydraulic top link. That's the direction I went on my 2502 and have zero regrets...

I just bought my first tractor!

I was looking for a 2501 when I purchased mine because I wanted to turbo it. At the time I could not find a new 2501 anywhere. I will probably eventually turbo the 2502 just because. I don't need the extra power but I love to modify things lol. I do really like the brakes being on the left and...

    L3901 HST

Welcome and congrats on the new tractor! I have the 2502 which is basically the same tractor with just a different engine. Great tractors! I am assuming this a used tractor since you didn't gt a manual and that it's the older model (01 vs 02). Depending on the hours on the tractor, I would want...

L4060 3rd function. Which kit do you recommend?

This is exactly what I did too and really like it. I don't need to do 3 functions at the same time when operating my grapple, two functions at once is perfectly fine and then can release or clamp when I need to.

    The cost of getting old

I was the construction tech for a very large storage company here in the Midwest and have replaced or repaired more garage doors than most people. I would agree, they aren't difficult or really dangerous if you just pay attention to what you're doing. It was the counter balance springs on our...

    Pricing: 2022 B2601 with 55 hrs

Pricing is all over the place. I seen a Kubota dealer by me last week sell a 2020 B26TLB with 300 hours and looked new for $24K. Granted, it only lasted for two days before it was gone.
