I went from a JD 1025R to a B2601. For me, the 2 pedal set up is easier but the treadle pedal isn't bad.
The B2601 reverse is harder than it needs to be. Shortly after buying it, my right acheilia's tendon started hurting.
Removing one of the springs fixed that.
I traded in my JD1025R for a B2601. The JD would do what I needed it to do, but after a month I was regretting buying such a small unit.
It was lacking in ground clearance and the smaller tires made for a rougher ride. It felt more like an oversize lawn tractor than an actual tractor...
Our fall has been dry and warm, so the leaves are still on the trees.
As soon as we have some good rain (hopefully this week) and a good cold spell, the leaves should drop, and I will mulch them up.
You might try putting the seat in the up position so that the rails are verticle. Then take some spray lubricant or even WD40 and spray on the rails so it runs between them.
Then take a rubber mallet and tap the seat frame to help loosen it up some. It's probably just frozen from not...
My neighbor is an 80 year old gear head with 2 restored cars form the 50's and one hot rod from the 60s.
I was having an impossible time getting an oil filter off my motorcycle. The wrench was slipping, and the filter wasn't exposed enough to get plyers on it. I asked his opinion on how to...
I just purchased the Land Pride PFL 1242 forks for my B2601. They are quick attach and with the 42 inch forks they weigh 220 lbs. They have a 1200 lb capacity it's designed and built for sub compact and compact tractors.
It wasn't any more expensive than other quality forks and was in stock at...
Without knowing which specific mower you're inquiring about it's difficult to answer specific questions.
I read somewhere that the old flail mowers from Ford were made by Mott and Alamo.
I have an 18x30 furniture dolly under my Tractor Supply 3 pt carry all. I also have an 18x30 furniture dolly under my pallet forks.
It allows me to move them out of the way when I'm storing them in the shop. Then when I need them, I can just roll them over to the tractor to put them on...
I've owned 4 JD products over the last 30 years. 3 of them have been reliable and trouble free. The last one had so many quirks and issues that I traded it in on a Kubota and haven't looked back.
JD seems to be having a lot of poor building issues from the factory according to JD forums.
I...
This!!
We paid a contractor to underbrush our acreage. Then we kept it maintained with a brush hog. It was cheaper than buying a mulcher and no wear and tear on our tractor.
That's exactly right. People don't realize how little manufacturing we do in this country anymore.
But they're about to find out.
Even the products that are made here, are made with foreign made parts and materials that are shipped in.
Engine wise, yes it should handle it fine. They make handheld posthole diggers with a much smaller engine driving it.
If you're referring to the Land Shark model, there is a notation on EA's website that it won't fit some tractors with a ROPS due to the way the ROPS is connected to the...
Factory backhoe's are not attached to the 3 point. They are attached to a sub frame that is connected to the frame of the tractor.
3 point arms are removed to allow the installation of the backhoe.
If you're talking about an aftermarket backhoe that connects to the tractor via 3 point, I'd...
Every year I'm going up and down a ladder putting Christmas lights on the house. This looks like it might work.
Time for a cup of coffee, and research. . .
Not to rag on other brands, but I used to own a 1025R so I'm a member of a JD tractor forum. People are complaining about poor assembly quality of their new green tractors. Bolts that are not torqued properly at the factory leading other issues shortly after bringing it home.
JD's...
