    Daily Chuckle

When my son was 3 or 4, my mother took him into town one day. As usual there was a train at the N. Main street crossing, and while waiting, mom heard him say something, but didn't catch it the first time. She asked him what he said and he said "damn trains." She asked him who taught that...

    techno geeks

No one has filed a class action suit against them for a couple of hundred million bucks yet. It takes motivation to get change.

Can you say........."Kid in a candy store...." ?????

There used to be a place a few miles away that sold seconds, end of runs and surplus steel. I bought a lot of tubing, sheet and bar stock from them over the years. Then, a couple of years ago they suddenly closed up and were gone. The message on the answering machine said a company in a town 30...

    Dynamo and belt install bx2230

The shaft that drives the transmission will have to be unbolted from the crankshaft pulley and slid back to get the belts off and on. I believe you'll have to take the battery out and remove the access plate under it to get access to the shaft.

"Burnishing" your new brakes. WTF......... Now I've heard it all. (I'm raising the Bullsh!t flag)

In the ~50 years I've installed new rotors and pads on my vehicles, all I ever did was install them and drive them normally. I always got excellent life out of them. Maybe the new pads are kinda sissies, and need to be pampered for a while.

    Staying away from town!

Where you going to keep it? I don't imagine your wife would let you bring "the equipment" home with you.

    How many hours?

I'm sure it depends a lot on how well they were maintained, what kind of conditions they were used in, and if they saw a lot of hard use. We had a Marion dragline back in the 60s and 70s with a 3-71 Detroit Diesel for power, and we finally had to overhaul it at ~22,000 hours because it wouldn't...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Power washed the BX and the JD today, before it gets evil hot for the next 5 or 6 days. The deck is next on the schedule to get power washed.

    Daily Chuckle

In 1981 my 1950 model decided she didn't need me any more, but did take half my money. Never bought another one. Had a few test drives though.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I cut out one side with the plasma cutter.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

This is what I made for my BX FEL. Some 1.5" square tubing, a large washer and a 1.5" shaft collar.

    FEL while mowing.

In the eight years I've had my BX, I've never taken the FEl off. It comes in handy when mowing and stopping to trim low hanging branches. Cut them up, toss themin the bucket, and next trip past the brush pile dump them off.

    I dont get out much

Oh gee, you were there on show girl night. I've seen stuff that I would have taken a picture of, but I was afraid it would burn out the camera sensor.

Got rid of the wheel bolts

The rod I used is Grade 5, from McMaster-Carr. Not sure what rating the bolts are, I didn't really look at them, but since they are SAE bolts, I doubt they have a metric rating. After 2 hours of mowing the lawn Saturday, I rechecked the torque on the nuts, and they were still right at 70 ft lbs...

Got rid of the wheel bolts

I haven't had to take wheels off my BX2230 very often, but when I did, I always cursed the damn wheel bolts. They are a real PIA to get back on, even after I made a couple of alignment studs. A while back, I replaced the front wheel bolts with 7/16"-20 studs and nuts, and the one time I have had...

    BX2200 LA211 loader leaky cylinder

I replaced the seals on the curl cylinder on my LA211 a couple of years ago. The only difficult part was getting the end cap off, it requires a spanner tool to unscrew it from the end of the cylinder barrel. The parts aren't that expensive and should be available from Messicks. The only other...
