Anybody figure this out yet? I need to pull the roof on my L4060 to wire in my new light bars. I've got the workshop manual & the closest description in there is "7. Remove the outer roof (13) of cabin." Wondering if I need to pull the head liner & those dozen or so plastic caps or plugs...

Oh, HST makes a big difference. Trivial to keep the go pedal pushed as far as it will go without lugging the engine. Should easily compensate for a slightly to big tiller where a gear couldn't.

I have a 60 or 62" King Kutter 2 behind my L3200 HST. Works well. Its slow going, but I'm sure that's the nature of a tiller. A 72" might work, especially with the 6 extra HP. My tracks with R4s are 60", which matches most of my implements.

Diff lock only affects the rear diff, not the front. If the front left turns, power is getting to the front diff. My guess is a bearing or something else in the axle or final drive is toast. Trying to move it without resolving the issue may cause other issues. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747...

A blade will weigh over half of your ballast, so you wouldn't loose all the weight. It will hang out back further making it a little more awkward. The extra leverage hanging further back may offset a little of the weight loss too. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk

A HST is just a hydraulic pump attached to a hydraulic motor. Can most manufacturers make good hydraulic gear? Probably a hair less reliability than a simple gear granny but more than something with internal clutches. I love my HST. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk

I like my new l3200 (same tractor, 6 less HP). You absolutely need at least 500lbs on the back. I always keep my 550lbs box blade there. It was pretty "exciting" trying to pull fence posts with a 200lbs post hole digger on the back, but I was expecting things & went really slow so I could stop...

I agree on the buy vs rent math. My equation was a bit different. Help a neighbor sink 7 holes (her tractor is down) for unlimited borrowing of her augur. Better quality ones will have better gearboxes & come with lube in the gearboxes. Not sure if there is much else to em. They aren't rocket...
