    Rear blade choose and weight

I had my reply all figured out as I was scrolling through this thread, and then got to Brian’s post here. No need for me to add anything, he 100% hit the nail on the head. Operating width when angled, check. Weight concern, check. Acknowledging the poor recommendation from a sales associate...

    Changing mind on oil changes

When we have a discussion go this sideways in my home, I typically ruffle up the hair on my kids’ heads and say, “Girls, it doesn’t really matter. You’re both pretty.” Oddly, it doesn’t matter if I’m talking to a son or a daughter. They get the point.

Trailer stake pocket spare tire carrier ideas?

Sold that trailer to get a bigger one, so no longer my issue! Plus, we don’t get salted roads here in Oregon. Also, it was a chain on that old one from the early ‘80s. Sold the trailer to another local fella.

Trailer stake pocket spare tire carrier ideas?

I like your stake pocket tire carrier! Nice work. The noses of our trailers are set up similarly, with the same style jacks. When I had mine built, I asked for the spare to be mounted to the front, as I regularly tie down all over the sides and I was afraid the spare would be in my way...

Bx2370 right side's f.e.l. pin - I cannot remove. On flat concrete with front wheels up. Looking for pointers.

Agree on the bucket position remark above. It’s a very fine line between slack on the pin and not…. Unless the pin is corroded in place, it should slide right out once you have the position perfect. Slide pin out and lightly adjust the loader hydraulically to lift the arms out of their...

    DEF or no DEF

We’re off topic, but the guts of the conversation have been picked over pretty well so I’ll join in! While I can appreciate the simplicity of older, more mechanically oriented machinery, I absolutely prefer the way newer vehicles drive, run, and perform. Took me a while to warm up to it, but I...

    DEF or no DEF

For only an acre that won’t likely require a huge amount of tractorin’, have you considered a smaller LX with a cab? 2610 if you don’t need a bunch of PTO power, or step up to the 3310 if needed. Mower? I’ve got a little over two acres and mow 1.5 of them regularly. Replaced my big...

    lx2610 hydraulic top link

Oh, wow! That’s twice as long as it was when I ordered mine a couple years ago. Think it was listed as 20 weeks, and it was accurate. If you can order and wait, I believe it’s worth it.

    lx2610 hydraulic top link

@MtnViewRanch is the man behind Fit Rite Hydraulics. Order early, he’s probably got a good backlog. I did, and couldn’t be happier with my top link.

Who's running a flail mower on a BX?

I have a WoodMaxx with Y-blades and use it for pasture grasses, blackberries, and other small brush. Under about 1.5” brush is gravy and it obliterates everything. In grass, the cut is not as smooth as a finish mower, but much better than a bush hog/rotary cutter. I do not have hammers. I...

Who's running a flail mower on a BX?

For rougher grass and light brush, I’d choose Y-blades. Save the hammers for real brush!

    Land Pride Hitch

If you’re talking about a 3-pt quick hitch, I believe the Land Pride QH-05 is the recommended model. The only downside I can think of on this is the non-adjustable top hook. Fine with LP implements and some others, but having an adjustable hook allows the use of a much wider variety of...

Who's running a flail mower on a BX?

WoodMaxx FM-62 with Y-blades behind my B2650 is amazing for tall grass and brushy stuff. If the grass is really thick, I have to go pretty slow, but it’s fast otherwise. The 54” model would be nice with your tractor.

    Kubota’s dirty little secret!

My takeaway from this thread: 1). Thank you for sharing what you’ve learned. 2). Empathy is not a trait that is well distributed. 3). It can be difficult to determine one’s tone with written text. Hope everyone learned something from this, and has a great New Year. Let’s all try to be nice...

Nice review. And I use the exact same chainsaw when I chip. It’s 100% perfect for that use!

L series plug and play aux lighting

My lighting needs just a hair more juice than the OEM provided wiring that was under my right rear fender. I ran a hot and ground from the battery back to the underside of that fender, and used the OEM lead to trigger a relay. My setup utilizes the headlight switch to trigger the relay and...

    BX23s Canopy. Which one?

I went with the heavy fiberglass one from my dealer. It’s been great so far, but I do load it on the trailer backwards. Juuuuusssssttt in case. It doesn’t even wiggle. Downside was the cost.

Hydraulic 3 point upper link ?

Seems like I put about a grand into mine when I did my own. That was one cylinder from Fit Rite and a pair of rear remotes. if you’re not needing it too much, could do a simple diverted valve setup and use your FEL valve to operate a cylinder. That would be pretty simple, and you probably...

    Bucket Level Indicator?

And isn’t the bottom of the bucket the only angle we care about? Whether it’s using the “level indicator” on the top of the bucket, or simply the top edge of the bucket itself, we’re just looking for a reference that shows us what we can’t see from the seat. The angle of the bottom of the...
