Did something really stupid - One inch hole in tractor tire

Something to think about: Smaller tractor & tire example but I put three massive nails through my front in close proximity to each other with a brain lapse. Regular style plugs and repairs didn't work. I pulled and took to a truck service shop recommended by local K dealer. Quick & easy...

    What's your fuel consumption like?

Mine is like this also - 5G takes it from 1/3 to full. Was a bit unnerving at first

L3901 was the star of the show

Tractor & grapple is a great tool. I see why that was easy but I would never approach any standing dead ash here - Mine are min 12" to 30" diam with widowmaker branches. Tractor is always out of range during felling w/ my luck ;) BTW - great firewood for the stove right away

L2501 tries to turn off when leaning on the seat too much

I wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. I kept running loads up one of my trails and couldn't for the life of me figure out why it always started to stall at the same spot every time. There must be something wrong with the new tractor right? It turns out I bounced up enough and must have...

L2501 tries to turn off when leaning on the seat too much

Drove me crazy for more than a while after I got mine. Not "recommended" safety-wise but I left it in place and used a wire tie to defeat it...

Can't complain about HF Predator Engines!

I replaced the Kohler on my splitter w/ the smaller one and has been great. I recently used the 8 hp one on a Mighty Mac Chipper shredder and hasn't been fully vetted yet but very impressive on the test run. Probably could have gotten by w/ the smaller. Now that I am typing this thinking...

    New to Orange Tractors

I have no problem with the sight glass either. Ex) It's running the grapple through the woods and accidentally causing some leakage in a line or bashing an unprotected filter and being able to see it. I recently tweaked a fitting and rubbed through what should have been a protected line and...

    New to Orange Tractors

I just paid the "green tax" and bought it for my K & F@rd. RWS's wise advice on being able to see it if you have a problem was ringing in my ears!! FWIW I looked at alternatives, but trust the JD a bit more even though it is just dye. I did spend the $ on extra preventative maintenance...

    New to Orange Tractors

There are plenty of options from aftermarket. amazon auto/off-road parts houses, TSC & HF etc Lots of threads and info on here. The DST time change and recent black Friday sale put me over the edge ;) I also like & went with the HF Roadshocks. In my case, a 22" bar is going under the fold-down...

    New to Orange Tractors

Welcome, and a great choice, IMO. I love my 2501 - It does everything I bought it for and many things I didn't think of (I really like the force multiplier comment) and has made a dramatic difference in working smarter. FWIW I am adding Aux. lights now and already wish I had done so sooner!

    Grill guard for my 2502

Nice job, and thanks for posting. I got everything together to do mine, but it ended up on the backburner. Adding lights over the break and coming back around to the GG as well... Did you weld angle stock and then bolt through the side? I like the idea vs welding directly and have been...

Seat options with armrests for the L2501

Wow, I would have snapped on that too - it looks great! FWIW there are a bunch of mid-level options options of the same brand at Northern Tool https://www.northerntool.com/brands/black-talon-seats

    hydraulic hose repair

Just went down this rabbit hole for a 36" 1/4 with female ends on my LP grapple. fwiw I caused it by knocking the 90' orientation and inadvertently rubbing through while working. Tried pricing @the purchasing K dealer (wanted to upcharge me & shipping to pick it up there:mad:); TSC (only male...

Appropriate Tire Gauge for Kubota L2800 Tractor

No - they could be that low and look fine. Digital gauge could be a second check, but add air and see... Old school still works.

    Advice for new tractor

Welcome - great knowledgable group here that helped me w my purchase. I'll start it off by saying that you are on the right track and will get many opinions. All these are like a Swiss army knife vs a dedicated tool for the job. Any will do it and 4WD is a godsend so I would worry about that...

Wood stoves......My favorite part of having a "cottage"......

I love mine! I also never had one until moving to PA 14 years ago, and I'm a convert. Coincidentally, the L2501 & grapple makes easy work out of my clean property clean-up, which becomes a two-fer cutting the oil bill down to misc. It was a stretch moving here & WS was a game-changer in...

Creek went dry, but grass doesn't look that bad

Super dry here in Lehigh Co. - about 5 weeks w/ no rain. The leaves looked great but dropped fast. Been trimming/clearing and VERY dusty. Wish I had the time now to dig the pond I am planning...:(
