I just keep mine wrapped in an old rag. It soaks up the leaks pretty well.

POS until proven otherwise. These are quite literally the cheapest gensets available here. You'd have a tough time convincing me that 'specifications' under control of 'USA Engineers' go much beyond the landed cost...

I mean, if you want cheap - go big! :):) Order the same POS from Ali Express: Even Harbor Freight (a company well known for high-quality, long-lasting, investment-grade tools and equipment) can't match the CHEAP of that Westinghouse unit!

I put a 'swing-down' stop on the left side of my Kurt vise. I can easily use my edge finder to locate the back vise jaw as you describe, and them similarly locate the inside edge of the stop. Then the work goes in pushed against the stop as I tighten the vise.
