Nice work Hammerhead! I like that.

Looking for replacement roller chain 22 mm oitch

I would also vote for new chain and sprockets. Replacing them as a set will give you the most life potential.

B7100 with a slight mechanical issue.

I'm glad to hear you are going for the drop in. I checked the ebay links yesterday and based on those prices, I would have done the same. Apogee, I hope I never find myself in major engine trouble, but I'm glad you are "local" and generous with your experience.

attaching a woods backhoe to subframe

Wow! I can't believe you have to remove all your 3pt parts just to pin on the backhoe. Not very friendly to switching back and forth.

Straightening the cutting edge of my FEL

If it was mine I'd probably try chaining my bucket sides down to a couple stake pockets on my trailer and jack between the trailer frame rail and the bucket.

    Chain or Strap.

Chain is much better for dragging in my opinion. Chains don't care about getting dirty or being drug across soft ground for the most part. They also don't stretch an appreciable amount. Chains can be hooked anywhere along the length, straps you pretty much have to work with the whole length...

    Box vs Rear Blade?

Either can do most jobs. Both excel at certain jobs. Sometimes you need to cut and move material, and a box is the ticket. Other jobs you want to redistribute or reshape what's there without really moving it, so an angle blade fits the bill. Really depends what you have to do. My advice is...

    BOTH front tires flat 3301HST

I have had really good results using Napa bead sealer on tubeless tires. It will help seal against slow bead leaks and also acts as a glue to help prevent the tires from slipping off the beads. Next step is to install tubes.

    Box Blade Hitch Receiver

Re: Biox blade Hitch Receiver I did mine similar to Hfrs7, I cut a hole and welded a stick of receiver tubing in there. Very handy. I use it all the time.

    OK to weld?

Let's keep this going. Like I said, I'm just not convinced but I am totally open to hearing your viewpoints. I can certainly see unplugging an ecu type device to isolate it if you're worried, but I can't yet see how disconnecting the ground from the battery would isolate anything other than...

    OK to weld?

Relax Hokie, the ground in question is the welder ground clamp, not the battery cable. Hook the ground on the bucket, close to weld, no problem. I weld on my vehicles and tractor when necessary and never had a problem. I don't bother unhooking the battery because I haven't yet been...

Oil Pressure and Battery Charge Lights

Your model is pretty darn similar to mine. Remove the 4 large screws that go down through the dash. Then you should be able to pull the dash up the column a bit to get to the bulbs. Mine uses a really small 2W bulb. Dealer wanted something silly like $10 each. Found them online for much...

    M5140 weak hydraulics

I think that usage is mainly for hydrostatic drives. It doesn't apply to gear drives. Not sure what kind of transmission the OP has.

    hydraulic lift failure

I'm not 100% because my manual is a crappy photocopy version, but I think the relief valve may be on the top of the housing, looks like a plug going down vertically, left of center if you're sitting on the seat. Near where the high pressure line comes up and over the housing, in front of the...

B7100 with a slight mechanical issue.

I'm with Tooljunkie, I always thought piston slap was side contact. Sounds like a bad bearing or other slop on one end of the rod or the other.

Maybe he has a 36" backhoe bucket?

    Size Question

Money goes a whole lot further on a used machine. Used implements too. B is too small in my opinion, L gets you a much larger machine, don't get hung up on HP ratings. My tractor is at least 30 years old and still works great, I have no problems getting parts from my local dealers within a...

CASE D100 Backhoe on my Kubota L2900 GST

Looks like it's in good shape, but would likely take a fair amount of work on the fabrication side to adapt the subframe mounting. Easy if you have the tools, could be spendy to pay someone to do. I'd jump on it if I needed a backhoe, but not sure in your case since you already have one. Post...

hooking up new backhoe to tractor

Don't be scared of the hydraulics. Once the tractor is shut down and you've moved the valves and nothing happens, you are fine. Once running, respect the tool, keep you body out of pinch points, don't lean on the controls hooking stuff up, etc. Be confident and safe and you will be fine...

    It had to happen sometime

I haven't lit the stove yet, but I did switch the heat pump control over from cool to heat a month or so ago. Our fall has been warm so far, with low temps probably 10 degrees above normal so far. I suspect I'll be burning in another couple weeks.
