    L3010 fuel problem

Do you have a good supply of fuel from the tank. Take the line off ahead of the filter and you should have a good flow of fuel. Take the line off ahead of the mechanical transfer pump. The same lots of fuel. Take the line off just before it goes into injection pump and briefly crank engine over...

    Hours for engine break in

10-15000 hrs is considered normal for industrial diesels. Kubota's would hardly fit this catagory but they can do it under ideal operating conditions. Most tractors on this forum get used in less than ideal conditions but should still make 2-3000 hrs. You can check with your local dealership...

    Hours for engine break in

Quite possible that your engine is not broke in. Larger diesels will take upwards of a 1000 hrs to fully break in. I would suggest in your case that you get some JD break in oil and use it till yours stops using oil.

    coolant in the exhaust

Yep would be my guess too. Careful it doesn't fill a cylinder with antifreeze when its not running. Then you'll bigger problems.

    UDT or Gear Oil

It depends on how you use your tractor. If you use 4x4 a lot and pull hard with it I would use gear oil no matter what the temp is. If 4x4 is seldom used and you use it in winter then I would stick with UDT.

    FEL rating

115# x area of piston x 2 will make over 1000# more lifting force which will translate to around 150# more lift to the loader.

L3940 engine knock / tapping noise

An oil analysis will tell you were it is from and what other metals are in the oil. Best find out soon.

    Water in fuel question.

That is a mystery as both filters are the same. Cant answer that one unless the first filter had a hole in it.

    Are turbo diesels better??

For a given fuel rate a turboed engine will give you a minor increase in power but a noticeable increase in torque plus cleaner exhaust.

    cold weather starting question

You will have a lot less grief if you have a block heater and plug in when it gets below freezing even if it is for only an hour. Also make sure you have your tank filled with winter fuel. And then throw a tarp over the tractor to keep the weather off and the wind. Keeping the wind off really...

test a stop solenoid? (picture attached)

A quick continuity test will tell you what each lead does. Any solenoid with the hold open circuit will have 3 wires.

test a stop solenoid? (picture attached)

It should have a spring on the plunger. The solenoid always pulls against the spring. Spring pressure in most cases shuts the fuel off while it requires electricity to run.

test a stop solenoid? (picture attached)

The 2 wire one will have a power terminal and a ground terminal so see if you can tell which might be the positive but if you can't it won't matter much try it both ways. Take a lead from the positive terminal on a battery and the same for the negative and connect to the leads on the solenoid...

    Gr2120 Hour Meter

They are a sealed unit just so they can't be tampered with. You pretty much make it obvious when you do which doesn't look good at trade off time.

    Gr2120 Hour Meter

Really, why are you worrying about this. Forget it and continue on.

    G1900 Diesel Rough Idle

It is unusual that there is no smoke with a misfire. You can check by loosening off the pipe at the injector and see if there is any change in how the engine runs. As you loosen each injector one at a time the engine will run really rough and want to die until you come to the one that is not...

    GF1800 lifting capacity

Are you certain the 'adjusting' screw is turned all the way in? If it is not the relief will not work properly. When I got mine it was not turned in all the way. I am not sure if it is assembled with some kind of powered tool that doesn't have the torque turned up enough or what but make sure it...

    G1900 Diesel Rough Idle

Is the idle set too low. Some 2 and 3 cylinder diesels will shake themselves to death if the idle is too slow. Do you have any way to check the idle. Or do you think it is a missfire on 1 or more cylinders.

    BX2360 less than 100hrs, running rough/stalling

You should have real good fuel flow after the pump. Since you don't I would check the flow from the tank ahead of the first filter. Could be you have a restriction in the tank. Just keep moving down the line with checking flow until you find the problem. It is possible your pump has gone bad...

    GF1800 lifting capacity

I messed with mine a fair amount and the adjusting screw is not meant to adjust. It just holds everything in place and when tightened in must be bottomed out. The shims are all that is meant to adjust pressure. I believe there are 3 thickness of shims I would buy all 3 (they are cheap) and start...
