L4701 vs L4060 Purchase for Hill Country

What’s your elevation? If you’re relatively high you’ll appreciate the turbo in the models above the 4060.

Dewalt 20V Rotary Laser - anyone here have one?

Me too on Topcon outdoors. I have an old RLB-1 I think. Topcon also offers a receiver you can mount on your dippper. https://www.tigersupplies.com/Departments/Brands-Categories/Topcon/Topcon_Machine-Control-Receivers.aspx

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

No, I have the backhoe on all summer and Kubota doesn't recommend filling tires with the BH (maybe backend becomes a little overweight) so I only use the 3PH in the spring and fall, oh and winter. I have the R-4's and so far they wear extremely well and don't rut up yards too bad.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Did you notice a difference with the front weights? Been thinking of adding some to mine for when I have the loader off.

    Shopping for my first tractor

I have a small GL and it pushes a 7' snow pusher just fine, also have a 7' blade for the back I'll be trying this year. It's only weakness IMO is the lift capacity with LA805.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Fixed best I could, hood scratch. Our son said he’ll stop by next weekend and give it a polish. I’m ok with how it came out.

    4X4 Indicator

Seems to me if I remember correctly, Paul Short installed one on his 40 series. He and Kathy are super nice and helpful. He will answer emails if you reach out to him. If anyone would know how it would be him. IF you get him to offer something please let us know. A mechanical "flag" would even...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Helped neighbor out and dug up old satellite dish. Should have listened to reasonable voice and cut the mast off BEFORE dumping in roll off. Piece of it came around and scraped hood. 1st scar in 510 hours of use and I knew it was overdue as I use forks for demo work. Wouldn’t of happened with a...

    m5400 7ft dozer blade

Sounds like a (snow) plow blade. It could be a 3PH backblade though with cylinders. One attaches SSQA or pin on? The other 3PH.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Time for a cleaning so I had to do my least favorite task, removing the FEL, actually, removing is easy it’s the remounting that’s a PITA. I’ve watched every video that makes it look easy but I struggle every year.

What size bucket do you have on your MX Tractor with BH92 Backhoe?

I have an 18” toothed bucket and 16” trench bucket. Both work great in my clay. A 12” may have trouble with clay sticking IMO. A 24” toothed bucket would probably be fine for your soil. I think a 30” toothed bucket would be too much.

    Loader bucket recommendations

I agree with @fried1765 and I too, have the 2296. It's the HD bucket, add the bolt on cutting edge as it's already drilled for it. These buckets take a real beating sometimes.

Using a tractor that is Too Large for an implement

I would think you’d be fine 540 rpm on the PTO shouldn’t matter. Only thing to maybe consider when using it is to have the implement dictate conditions rather than the tractor. Assuming your tractor is CAT 1?
