contemplating whether I should get one of these...I like the 20V battery source over other brands. It seems that many of the others use standard D sized batteries (not a fan of that at all). I have a good supply of Dewalt 20V batteries/chargers already.

I think the red lasers can be had for a few hundred $ less than the green variety. I don't really need all the range that either of them claim, but still want something that will take the 20V batteries.

Looking for input from others that have or have used one of the Dewalt 20V rotaries. Likes/dislikes? They are quite salty right now, but maybe I would be able to snag one on a decent sale down the road.

For outdoors I use TopCon RL-SV1S
It is single slope and really easy to program and work with. It is built like a tank.

Thanks Kevin. I'll take a peek at 'em.

It looks like there are so many different dewalt packages to confuse potential buyers...likely on purpose. I saw one that featured bluetooth for your phone instead of a remote...WTH?

I have an 18-volt DeWalt laser, and when I was building my deck, it worked extremely well. When I was done with it, I toyed with the thought of selling it but never did. I haven't used it once in the last 10 years, however, a friend borrowed it twice and he also loved using it. I don't know how good or bad the newer laser levels are, but I do see quite a few being used by local contractors. Like most everything in life, it boils down to personal preferences.

I have the Dewalt 20V, 3 Beam laser (Green, self leveling) and I really like it. It works great and the green is much more visible than the red is. I use it for closet shelf instals, lining up can light holes in ceilings, hanging pictures, checking front loader plate alignment, 3 point hitch leveling, and more. Great tools.

I am sure the Dewalt is great, but I bought/used a Bosch kit for about half the price. I used it to level 3 sites (30×30, 30x15 and 12x12 feet) with my tractor. It worked extremely well, and I never had to change the batteries.
