    Grease Cleanup

Wolfman, I stop as soon as I see the squeeze out (but do wait to see some so I know it's getting there). The third I was referring to was instruction to "grease every 10 hrs" and I now have 30 hours on the unit. I can imagine what it will look like after 100 hours. But, if wipes is as good...

    Grease Cleanup

So after the third "nipple charge" the squeeze out is starting to mess things up. I'm not an obsessive clean freak but would appreciate any suggestions to make the clean up a little easier.

    My BX is too fragile

My two bits. I received good advice from the folks on this board to get a skid plate for my new unit, and did so. BXpanded version. Great unit, easy on off and so on. But... by the time I got it delivered to the great white north, paid with loonie dollars added taxes, duties shipping.. it...

    Kubota Insurance

I found a rider to my house insurance was quite a bit cheaper. Can't say how the claims coverage would work out and hope not to have to find out!

Getting old(er) and the fun of it all!

Hokie I think you were the first one that answered one of my newby questions (as well as the second, third...) Thanks for making this forum so welcoming. Hope your back up to it very soon. Andy

    Switch Rating

Thanks all. Amazing what you find out with just a little question.

    Switch Rating

Torch, I haven't installed the switch yet - no failure. My question was if I dived ahead and installed the switch would I run the risk of a fire if it failed. 85Hokie This is the site I bought them from - I found the same switch on a number of "auto" type sites after I bought these (cheaper...

    Switch Rating

Regards the LED light, I did a workbench test to se if my planned wiring would work out and the system works fine (LED lights, switch works a test light, relay kicks in when it's supposed to). The issue I guess I am stuck with is the capacity of the switch to the ROPS light I had planned to use...

    Switch Rating

The relay idea seems like a good one; I had planned on setting up an auxillary fuse panel using a relay tied to the ignition. A second relay might start getting crowded (it's a little tractor after all!) I have room for two switches - if each could handle one LED light; or I might have to break...

    Switch Rating

Torch, Thanks for the pointing that out. The lights suggest they will accept voltages as low as 9 and up to over 30 so I am not sure what their "actual" rating is.

    Switch Rating

The switch I plan on using for some ROPS lights (2 x 36w LEDs) has a 3 Amp 125 v rating. By my calculations the switch should be good for 30 amps at 12 volts. Any issues I'm missing?

    Wire Splice

Thanks all. I will make sure the fuseing is taken care. Good thoughts on the connection options. Andy

    Wire Splice

That's great info on the pto wiring harness - sounds like it might be more easily accessable and connectable. I will see if I can find it tomorrow.

    Wire Splice

Got the relay all ready to go. The plan was to activate the relay off the ignition and have the relay run the switches to the lights. I plan on switching them just because I like the idea of being able to turn them on and off as needed. Control freak I guess. Sounds like soldering it is. Thanks

    Wire Splice

I am adding some new Rops lights and want to connect the relay to the ignition "on" wire so the circuit is only active when I am running. Question - I want to splice in but don't really like (trust) those blue clamp on clips. Is there a better alternative or should I just solder it? Thanks

    Greasing it

That looks like just the ticket! - thanks for the link.

    Greasing it

I am embarrassed to ask this - while I am in my 60's I still have a little left in me, but be darned if I can get some of the grease zerks on the hoe to take a charge. The tractor is new so there is not much play in things but I do need to get some grease in.

    Is 0% really 0%?

On my BX 25 purchase there was (of course) a difference in the Cash vs Finance price which I view is a financing cost. If you use your own money there is an opportunity cost (return you could have earned on it). So it's a choice. You can use your own insurance as opposed to Kubota's and I found...

    Skid Plate for a BX25D

BX Under armor arrived yesterday, installed today. Looks to be a good solid unit, installed easily and you do have the love the neat on/off design. Thanks to all for the advice.
