trasmission shaft pilot bearing - to lube or not to lube?

Hi Bellinghamster. When I did the clutch on my B7200, I put the bushing in first then put some grease in , and then the seal. I had the old shaft from the transmission so I used it to aline the clutch. When I pushed it into the pilot bushing it pushed the seal out because I had too much grease...

How effective is an Engine Overhaul? L245DT

Hi Jerry. If the shop is not too far away, take the tractor down to them and have them check it out. Have you ever watched a Mennonite farmer check over a tractor or other farm equipment before they buy it. They do everything but split the tractor. And thats a farmer not the mechanic.Well worth...

Try to add wings on 6' snow blade.

HI Joe. I just typed a huge reply and lost it. Which is okay because I was embarrassed to have written so much to explain so little. Your tractor is losing traction or power or the front end is being pushed sideway's when the blade is angled. A wider blade will only make it worse. If you narrow...

    3 cheers for ServiceDept Vic

A long over due 3 cheers for Vic. I am afraid I don't show my appreciation as much as I should for the hard work and time that Vic and Mr.K put into this forum and the Vids and articles that they produce on top of everything else.:D:cool::D Dusty

    B 7200 Clutch ??

Wildfire, if it is no problem for Vic or Mr.K then it is not a problem for me. I really like seeing your projects where ever they are. And if you don't post them here I may not be able to see as many. Kinda selfish of me but thats just the way it is.:D Dusty

    I need your opinions

Hi Greg. I agree with GWD on the loader valve, buy the best you can afford. You will be using it a lot. If you ever want to put a grapple or a loader mounted blade the third valve will be there. The oil in the loader is probably dextron trani fluid and should not cause a problem.:D Dusty

    L245 won't turn over

From the sounds of it you need to find out if that engine is seized or if there is something external that is holding the engine. What that could be I have no Idea. To turn the engine by hand see if there is a nut on the alternator or the crankshaft (if you can get to the crankshaft?) . Put a...

B3030 front wheel bolt circle/ spacers?

Hey Guys. For traction and steerability on your front wheels you can buy screw in studs. A friend of mine has them on 4 tractors for clearing snow. They really make a difference on ice. I think they are called Maxi grip. They screw into the tire and you can remove them in the spring.:D dusty

    Cold Start question

The decompressor was stuck on my B8200. I have never used it.It was just the cable that was stuck. I had the rocker cover off to tighten up the valve train, so I disabled the decompressor . It is simply a rack that lifts the exhaust valves to reduce compression so the engine turns over easier...

    4 wheel drive or not?

I am probably one of the worst offenders as far as leaving the tractor in 4x4. With any kind of weight on the loader, there is no way I can climb any kind of a hill in two wheel drive. I know the solution, load the tires and build a ballast box. In the mean time I keep either the tiller or...

B series Three Point Hitch compatibility

Hi Dookanooka. I am afraid I can't be much help here other than just normal taking old stuff apart knoSledge. No I did not misspell. If you can see that it has a gasket, then I would loosen not remove all of the bolts about an 1/8 of an inch. Then use a wedge and a small ball peen and tap the...

    Grapple blade?

Hi Greg. Is what you are thinking of a blade that would pivot down in front of the bucket and hinging above and behind the bucket. If so are you thinking of making them into a separate quick attach system to switch between grapple and blade or integrate them so that the grapple is permanent and...

    Snow managment; Tractor vs. ATV?

Hey Guy's. Thought I would put my 2 cents in. I do about 15 places in town here. I started off this year using the 4 ft bucket and 54 in blower in mid range hydro. I got ticked off because the bucket is narrower than the tractor(51 in) so I made a 60 in blade 2 ft high cutting edge off of a road...

Very nice Cabu. I have done much the same thing on garden tractors but definetly not as professional as yours. If it is 4 wheel drive make sure your front and rear tire size ratio's match.:cool: dusty
