    B7100 drag link repair

Nice work on the fab job. I have a little play on the one end of my drag link. I have thought of the same thing...changing out ends vs. spending that much money on a replacement drag link.

Is it time to let go?

I just spent over $500 a piece to rebuild both of the tilt cylinders on my B7100. It was a lot more money than I anticipated, but they now have new innards and they are like new cylinders. These old tractors, in good working order are still worth quite a bit of money.

What Trail Cams would you recommend?

I've had great luck with Bushnell Trophy cams. I have my original 2008 units that still work fine, plus others I have purchased over the years. But, this is for pics only, no experience with cellular type.

    Rotary Cutter for B7100

I run a 48" rough cut mower on my B7100 and it handles it just fine.

    Find it pretty amazing

Nice set up with the accessories, Bill!! A backhoe sure would come in handy for me! That's a great place to mount a fire extinguisher. I have been wanting to carry one on my tractor.

    Find it pretty amazing

My 1977, B7100 has been a pretty amazing tractor for it's size. Granted I have only owned it for the last 5 years. Had to have the clutch replaced a couple of years ago. Other than that, I think it is incredible what I can do with it. I used it exclusively on our hunting land, pulling a 48"...

    Garage door opener

I replaced a Genie screw drive unit about 5 years back with a Chamberlain Whisper Drive unit, which is a belt drive. I think it is a pretty quiet unit.

Has anyone regretted going from R4 to R1

Well, I have no experience with R4's. I have always used R1's, due to wanting to maximize traction and keep lugs from filling up with mud. But, they do ride a little rough, if you are on a hard surface. I guess it's more of an application question on why you want R1's vs. R4's. I think for...

    Garden prep ?

If you plan on working the sod into the soil, spraying it with vegetation killer (41% glyphosate) 3-4 weeks before you work it will make things a lot easier. That sod will work up a lot easier after the grass and roots have died.

Hey Thomas, how are you doing? I was concerned, since you have not posted in some time. I reached out to Daren Todd to see if he had heard from you. I guess he got a hold of you. He says you are doing fine. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! Things are well with my B7100. One of my...

    Tree planting / sapling moving

My best success rates on transplanting trees is early spring, while the trees are still dormant. Take as big of a root ball as you can and try to keep it intact around the roots. Make the new hole slightly larger than the root ball, add loose soil around the root ball to fill in the voids.

    B7100

Does it have a FEL, any other attachments included? What year is it? I don't think there is enough information given to help you on the pricing question.

    Planted Fall Food Plots

Things were going well on my hunting land this year...spring plots looking decent, getting ready for fall plots in the next week or so. But, we had a huge storm come through parts of WI last Friday night. It caused destruction like I have never seen. Trees down all over by our cottage. My...

    '95 b7100 hst

Nice Buckwheat plot! I plant the same thing in half of my plots, mainly as a soil builder and to provide a layer of thatch. I have a B7100 as well, which I use for the same exact reasons you do. They are over achievers, that's for sure.

Operator's age the "Feel" of the tractor

Well, I know I am more cautious and less of a risk taker the older I get. I'm sure one can equate that with how you are feeling. One could look at it this way as well, the older we get, the more close calls we have had, the more "experienced" and cautious we become. But, I still don't like...

    Filthy tractors versus clean ones

I probably wash mine good once a year, in the fall, since I don't use it much in the winter months. I am religious about keeping the radiator and screen clean of debris though. I often take the screen out and hit the radiator with some forced air.

New turf tires for the kubota L2501 almost ends in disaster.

Here's what I get from this post, if it is legal (or supposedly legal), than it must be safe...lol. There are lots of smart, informed people on this forum. If you would listen instead of defending your bad decisions, you could probably learn something. Safety first and foremost!!

    Slip Clutch ???'s

I have experienced the same dilemma you have with a 4' cutter on my 16 hp, B7100. I can stall the tractor out with hitting something, but the factory shear pin does not shear. I ended up replacing the "shear bolt" with a piece of threaded rod instead. A carriage bolt would work as well. I figure...
