When the wind decides to turn a barn into a chicken coop!

I did post frame with post protectors for termite peace of mind and it's been up for two years with no issues. We have mostly south wind 60-80mph not counting tornadoes. The roof is opposite north/south so the wind can't peel the panels back (happened to a neighbor). I did 6" floating slab...

    Shopping a L2501 tractor

I bought mine in May and it was delivered one week later. It was in a crate on the lot. It took a few days for the 3rd function and remotes to come in. No BH or extended warranties. KTAC is going to add another $3500-4000 to your total if you finance. My finance incentive was $1200 vs $1600 for...

Advice choosing between several different models…

I have 0 issues with the 2501 pedal. I pick up my foot each time to go forward or reverse. It is not meant to rock back forth..maybe if you have giant feet. HST is far more productive for anything except for mowing. I have a geared tractor for that.

EverythingMoneyAttachments. All the money up front?

If I were doing it again I would've skipped the oem bucket and had the tractor delivered with pallet forks only. There is a huge % cubic feet capacity increase compared to my tiny oem bucket. This size increase may not be the same for the MX buckets. I also don't care what color the bucket is...

    L2501 dealer checklist

It's me the tie rod guy. Here's a list of problems I can remember: 3pt didn't work Loader not torqued Wheels not torqued Several grease zerks untouched Front axle took 3 quarts of sudt2. Which means it was almost empty. It was clear the shop guys lied on the dealer checklist when they signed...

    L2501 tie rod end

Dealer sent tech out. Chased threads, new nut and cotter pin. Back to work!

    L2501 tie rod end

Left side looks good and like it was painted at the factory.

    L2501 tie rod end

The more I think about it I agree. I think it would bend before a nut and cotter pin that large pops off. I'll get another picture shortly.

    L2501 tie rod end

Is it possible to push it up with enough force to strip the bolt off, even with pin installed? I made the dealer come out and redo the checklist when I bought it. Not sure if this was checked though.

    L2501 tie rod end

Well I popped my tie rod end out going over a rock like tree stub. It looks like it popped the bolt off as the threads are no longer straight. Does anyone have this part number for a 2501? I pushed it back in and went really slow to get back to the garage. I guess I need to order a parts...

    Northern Owner Sperience

That may be true for Canada but not for us southern US states. I know several vehicles that did not start and got towed instead during the February freeze/power outages.

    Northern Owner Sperience

I have a dumb question as a flatlander with mostly warmer temps. My tractor is stored indoors and rarely gets below freezing. If I start it indoors, is engine heat enough to keep the tank from gelling? Planning for worst case when I have a PTO gen running in 0 or subzero temps. I use stabil...

    Confused about tractor RPMs + L, M, H (Kubota L3301)

I just top off my 2501 after every use. Isn't that what the manual says? I have to do that in my old tractor because it has a metal tank full of rust. My old tractor fuel gauge works better than the 2501. It has about 20 positions on it though.

New BX23S Owner-Spring Cleaning Implement recommendations

I have forks also. No way it can possibly compare to a grapple. Carrying a few logs or twigs, yes. But only after you cut them down manually. With my wicked grapple I either turn the lid down and back drag or push with the main frame and it pulls all the small stuff out. My pallet forks can...

    L series Backhoe worth getting?

I asked a similar question here before I bought my tractor. I have over 600ft of 3-4ft deep trench in heavy clay so I thought I could use a mini X. Or a backhoe. Biggest I could've purchased would've been a u35. Instead I saved about 25K and got a l2501 with grapple and top and tilt. I...

    L3901 and L3301

Can you burn? I want a chipper, but burning is much cheaper. I also have a bunch of wood that's been on the ground and wouldn't be good for a chipper. Grapple is one of the best implements to buy. I would follow that with a rotary cutter. Box blade and tiller can wait unless your building a...

KTAC insurance rate hike - again!

It's not that great because it's not full replacement after 60 months. I had to purchase it because of the financing. It is expensive, almost 10% of tractor cost on my l2501. I don't live where my tractor lives so I went with it vs. a commercial policy. My homeowners covers the building but...

    Kubota Electric Tractor Survey

He's not correct though. Power generation even for the big companies comes from many different sources and alot of it is not their own (Texas). My coop is part of a larger group that has plants that only supply coops. My electric is about 6 cents in the winter and 8 in the summer per kWh...

    Kubota Electric Tractor Survey

Until that transmission line comes anywhere near your property- then you're against it. Happens on every single transmission project. Makes it hard to get anything done. This and NIMBY. It's why so few new transmission lines are built. I look forward to when battery tech has matured enough...

Grill Guard - Simple & Cheap?

What thickness and opening size expanded metal are you guys running? Our local metal yard has standard, flattened, 7,9,13 with 1/2 or 3/4 holes. I have a whimpy welder so I'm thinking 9 or 13. Not sure about the hole size.
