Had a blast Tuesday & Wednesday!!!

Earlier this winter we had 6" of snow and my wife had just got back from the hospital after being treated for pneumonia. I was getting ready to get my tractor out to plow the driveway and road in front of our home when 3 neighbors appeared on their tractors and had our driveway plowed in a few...

1st Time I Have Every Seen This

The only bad part is the fact it took me 10 minutes to find the problem and 3 hours to fix it. I only had about 6 inches to work in without tearing apart the entire dash and I still had to take the hood off to get room enough for me to lay across the front of the tractor and to reach in under...

1st Time I Have Every Seen This

The issue came back today and I found the problem. The original oil sending unit was bad and has been replaced. I was using the tractor today and found when I hit a bump the fuse popped. I went back into the wiring and found the problem. The wiring harness had a section of it that was worn...

1st Time I Have Every Seen This

I checked the wiring and can not find a reason or anything improper with the wiring. I do think that I will look at and test the ignition switch and see if it is a problem. All the sensors I have seen over the years have always failed by not reading or giving a false reading as you described...

1st Time I Have Every Seen This

I still can not figure out why it was blowing the fuse but it was. Looking at the wiring diagram in the Work Shop Manual for a L185 it was tied into the ignition switch on a different circuit. I just was testing everything and for some unknown reason I hit on the problem. The only thing I...

1st Time I Have Every Seen This

I have been plagued by a fuse blowing problem on my ZL1801 in the charging circuit. I finally started working today to isolate the problem with my tester. I disconnected one item at a time and finally found the problem after the 2nd item that I tested. I have never seen in over 35 years of...

    Truck tires on a B7200

Years ago my brother put on old recycled aircraft tires on his old Massey-Ferguson as a experiment. It failed because the tires were so hard and did not flex at all. If there was even the slightest bit of water around the tires would hit the water and spin fruitlessly. My brother admitted...

    540 RPM or 960 RPM on 4' Snow blower~???

See the gear box, see the chain drive, see the sprocket, see them fly apart at the higher speed, see you sitting over the top of all this. See yourself being injured or killed by the flying parts. USE 540 RPM ONLY!! You do not know if the parts are designed for the higher speed.

    Drilled Hole into Engine Block

Same here. Drilling can lead to expensive repairs and I am a machinist by training and I hate to drill unless I can see the other side. Going blind into the block is way to damaging. One idea would be to take it in to a welder and seeing if he can plug it, very unlikely but it might be the...

    Synthetic Oil for Kubota

I have used either Rotella or Mobile 1 in my Kubota gray and it works fine with either oil. Just remember that you still need to do regular maintenance and I have had no seal leaks with the Mobile 1.

    HST v.s. Gear

The advantages of a gear tractor that I have seen. 1. The transmission normally is for some folks supposedly beefier on a gear tractor 2. For what ever it is worth in steady state work (plowing a field or mowing a field with a brush cutter) a gear tractor is slightly more fuel efficient then...

I need rear tire size and make for L175 AG and measurements of AG wheel !!!!

I do not know if that dealer does not have someone that is any good at reading the parts manual. Here is what I got off the parts manual in my personal library of Kubota parts manual for the L-175 R-1 AG tire and wheel Wheel P/N 34159-27950 Tire Size- 8.3/8-24 R-3 Turf tire and wheel...

    Newbie's New Cab.

A wiper is a useful addition and I would go to the automotive junkyard and find a old cars wiper motor and adapt it to fit the tractor, one hint is a old 1970's GM vehicle with the separate switch and grab the switch with the motor and then simply wire it in.

How to service Hydraulics on L185

To fill your L185 you have a plug on the side of the transmission just about half way up near the the clutch pedal and the top fill near the gear shift. Remove the side plug and set it near by, open the top fill and then fill the transmission until fluid comes out the side plug. You just...

Adding work lights to an L235

This is how I hooked up forward facing lights on my JD when I added front work lights, a separate toggle switch using common power and the rear lights could easily be hooked up. I ran all the wiring through the tubing of the canopy. What I did as the canopy from the company did not have a...
