    i would try a file on the end of the cam first. just a little stroke to see if it will file. if the file don,t cut it it won,t tap. if u can tap magnatize the tap so it will contain the chips and remove oftem and blow clean with a air hose. regards Louis

    taping holes

    here is a old trick for tapping holes where a tap handle is not pratical. press a nut on to the tap and the u can use a wrench or socket. when i put all the rigging for my plow under the tractor, all the holes were retaped to 1/2 in NC and u guessed it with a socket and rachet.

    u could be right Brian. i have used the motorcycle studs too. they are a lot smaller shorter, 5/8 in is the longest and they are sharp. i think the rubber is harder on this tractor tire and u notice the lenght of my studs. i left them rounded so the are,nt so inclined to tear out of the rubber...

    traildust; look at the pics again. all the weight is on the drawbar, the top straps are there to keep the stack upright. i left myself enough room to add another 200lbs if i have to.

    my bud was wrong. the 24.5 truck tires are just that it will not fit on our 22 in rims. from what the tire shops tell me, they used to make 22 in truck but not any more. i still have to find the 22.5 truck tires and measure them.

    Looking at the picture it appears the 3ph is taking the brunt of the load while the draw bar is more of a stabilization. all the weight is on the drawbar. the drawbar is free to pivot, rotate. the top straps are there to keep the stack upright

    bolt on wheel weights. u can buy or make. my buddy made some lead ones and used a truck brake drum for the mould. lead was wheel weights. i have to add more weight too and i plan on useing grader blades. i,ma gona bolt them on to the drawbar. old grader blades are free to me.
