L1500 tire size

i was at KAL TIRE asking about new tires for my L1500
the tire size is 8.3\8-22 is whats on my tractor. the salesman said
theres no such size. i suppose these are only available in japan.

i was talking to a retired truck driver freind at the gunrange today and
he says that the new truck tires 24.5 are actually 22 in rim size. i have to go into town tomorrow morn and i,ll check that out. i wanted thr turf thread
as they work better with chains. cheap USED truck tires would work for me.

my bud was wrong. the 24.5 truck tires are just that it will not fit on our
22 in rims. from what the tire shops tell me, they used to make 22 in
truck but not any more. i still have to find the 22.5 truck tires and measure
them.

While you are out scrounging wheelweights, hit up some of the smaller shops that work on semis and deal in used/ repaired truck tires. There is a low profile 22.5 that may work for turf tires on your tractor. A couple of years ago one of my friends dealt in repaired truck tires; they retailed for about $100 or so.

I don't know for sure because mine has 13.6-16 turf tires on it already.

Also there is a place in Kansas that deals in seconds/ blemished tires, I think it is tire town. . They have very good prices, but shipping to Canada might be a deal killer.

There's a big time farm dealer here in Winnipeg. I called the shop they use for their tire needs.
No deal.
May try to stud tires as per a different post.

I called a local dealer asking for turf tires.
In stock and $417 a piece.
I chatted him up and got the price down to $360 a piece.

I was just looking around the net at tractor sites and came upon these tires that seem to be the correct size for my L1500. I do not need tires at this time but was glad to find a source available.

Did you end up finding tires? I want to get rid of my turf tires and put the original ag style tires on it.
