Thinking of a bigger tractor than L1801

Looking for more hp and 4wd. 0% financing is enticing enough to consider new. I currently have 4 and 5 foot implements which plays a role in my decision. Tilling takes way too long with my 4 foot tiller, between 4-5 hours to complete. Would consider a b series of it can run the tiller...

M6060 Ice Pick Chains - Need Help w Install

Maybe try letting some air out of the tire to gain some wiggle room. It's nice having bungie cords to keep the chains from sliding all over the place. Nothing worse than losing "progress" during the process. You can also use a come-along to secure the ends to each other and spin the wheel...

    rear rims for L185DT

I'm switching my tires over today and thought I would send a picture of the route I took when dealing with the exact situation you're in right now. It was less than 400 bucks if I remember correctly.

what kind of winter chains would you recommend?

Found these on Kijiji for $80. Would need a bit of elbow grease to make them work but you would save big time $$$. Keeping the chains from riding in the lugs would require some creativity on your part. -cross the links in an X pattern -Offset the rungs so they are on an angle The point is...

what kind of winter chains would you recommend?

A guy can save a few bucks if you buy the tire chains that are built for semi trucks. It will take a little bit of work on your end manhandling the chains open and closed as you add new ladders To get the length you want. You'll sweat like a bulldog having pups but it's nice to save a few...

    2001 B7400 or new BX2370

I'm with the gents who say the 7400 is the answer. I was in your position 4 years ago when I opted for a used L1801 over a brand new machine, just wish it had 100hours like your opportunity! Sure you gotta fix a used machine a bit more but the $8000 difference you're saving goes a long way...

Sounds to me like you need weight on the ass end when using loader.

    New 1973 L175

Congrats on a great little tractor. I have a similar model (L1801) which I've owned for 4 years. Like you I had many questions and am still learning about the capabilities of my tractor. You want to heed the warning regarding steering box failure, primarily if it's being stored outside...

    Stuck BX

My dad crossed a ditch in his Ford truck straight on and sure as shit we were stuck. The second he realized it he muttered to himself. "should have gone in diagonally" That's a lesson I will always remember.

    Stuck BX

That's a really good idea. Fill the bottom 6-8" with nice stone and you can cut that lawn parallel, diagonal, or upside down.
