    lx2963 vs lx2980 snowblowers

I just had the 2nd snowfall in 2 days in Northern WI. About 1" yesterday and 2" today. Ground is still warm (about 42 degrees) so melting is taking care of it so far... Soon, I'll need to connect that snowblower and put it to work.

    lx2963 vs lx2980 snowblowers

The PTO shaft slides on a splined shaft on the sub-frame and has a collar that pulls back to for attachment to the mid-PTO. Since the blower is not attached at this point, the PTO shaft rotates freely to allow alignment of the splines between the shaft and the mid-PTO. Never had a tractor...

    lx2963 vs lx2980 snowblowers

Took me about 10 minutes to take the loader off and I've only watched it done once. Took about the same amount of time to put the sub-frame on after I had only watched it being removed. After I do each a couple times, I'd think closer to 5 minutes each. Haven't connected the snowblower yet...

    lx2963 vs lx2980 snowblowers

It's actually a pretty simple connection between the sub-frame and the snowblower. Note the round pin on the top right of the sub-frame and the open hole on the bottom right... That round pin slides into the half-round in the top center of this picture of the snowblower, when lifting the...

If anyone wants any detailed pictures of the blower or subframe, let me know! On the photo of the front of the blower, I placed my hat there for reference of that monster chute.

    lx2963 vs lx2980 snowblowers

Just spoke with my dealer, Service Motor Company in Wausau, WI. My tractor gets delivered tomorrow INCLUDING the LX2980 snowblower. He indicated in addition to mine, he had 9 of these snowblowers presold. Without notification, they all showed up yesterday at his dock. There's hope for those...

    Wait times on LX2610HSDC?

It's 9/25, just over 2 months since I ordered. Tractor is sitting at the dealer, just waiting for the commercial snowblower (he received shipping confirmation 2 days ago) and 3rd function to show up early next week. Dealer expects he'll deliver next the complete package late next week.

    lx2963 vs lx2980 snowblowers

Best I can do for now is this picture. Visited the dealer today to tie up some loose ends and ended up buying forks for the tractor while I was there. The rear blade was ready to go, they still have to assemble the box scraper, and waiting for 3rd function, but salesman found one at another...

I will certainly do that as nobody anywhere has pictures of it that I can find.

Well, good news for me. Dealer said he received a call that the LX2980 64" Commercial Snowblower will arrive next week. The rest of the tractor and loader are assembled. Going to take a look at it tomorrow. The wait is almost over.

    lx2963 vs lx2980 snowblowers

Well, after ordering my LX2610HSDC tractor on 7/20 and ordering the commercial snowblower with it, talked to the dealer today (9/10) and he said he isn't expecting any of the commercial snow blowers until December. Told him that doesn't work for me so now they are selling me the residential...

    Wait times on LX2610HSDC?

Ordered mine with bucket, rear blade, box scraper 64" commercial snowbower, loaded tires on 7/20. Was told (an obviously optimistic) 3-4 weeks. It has been 7 weeks this week. My dealer has 6 locations all over Wisconsin so it would seem they have some buying power. I'm planning to call...

    lx2963 vs lx2980 snowblowers

Looks like I'll pay the extra for the commercial version. I was not sure even in the current blowers, what the difference would be.

    lx2963 vs lx2980 snowblowers

I'm looking at purchasing an LX2601 and in the "Build My Kubota" section, this is what is listed for front snowblowers: 63" RESIDENTIAL SNOWBLOWER (LX2963) 51" COMMERCIAL SNOWBLOWER (LX2970)...

    Removable saw holder (homemade)

I have a suggestion. Cover that chain. If one were to slip on the step and/or lose one's balance stepping off the tractor, the chain is right out there to catch any part of one's body on the way to the ground. With a design as shown, simply modify it to incorporate the manufacturer's bar...

    Does tire grooving really work?

    Kubota B2650 front snow blower

When I was on the grounds department for a local school district and we set up our green tractor for winter use each Fall, we attached a piece of flex exhaust tubing and ran it our the back of the tractor. No soot, no stink.

    What fuel to use

I'm in Monona. For my F-250, I always get my diesel fuel at Cenex near Menards. All Monona City trucks and many local companies get fuel there. My point, get fuel at a station that goes through a lot and you see commercial guys filling up all the time. Much more likely to get quality...
