I'm looking at purchasing an LX2601 and in the "Build My Kubota" section, this is what is listed for front snowblowers:

63" RESIDENTIAL SNOWBLOWER (LX2963)

51" COMMERCIAL SNOWBLOWER (LX2970)

64" COMMERCIAL SNOWBLOWER (LX2980)

I just had a quote done by my local dealer including a front mount snowblower. He quoted the residential snowblower on my quote. I indicated the tractor would be for commercial use and didn't notice the residential blower listed until I got home. Now I am trying to find info on the two to determine differences. Googled Kubota LX2980 and found nothing. Tried LX2980 on Kubota's site...nothing. I want to compare the two to see what the the advantage would be with the "Commercial" model.

Anyone?

Not sure about the blowers you reference for the LX

However for the blowers that work on the B series the differences between the commercial and residential are:
The comerical uses thicker gauge steel in most areas, has a gear drive for the augers (vs chain on the residental) and the hydraulics for chute rotation is standard on the commercial version

Looks like I'll pay the extra for the commercial version. I was not sure even in the current blowers, what the difference would be.

They are so new, your dealer will be your best source of information to be able to decide between the 2. Hopefully they have detailed specs or can get them.

Well, after ordering my LX2610HSDC tractor on 7/20 and ordering the commercial snowblower with it, talked to the dealer today (9/10) and he said he isn't expecting any of the commercial snow blowers until December. Told him that doesn't work for me so now they are selling me the residential blower from the B Series with some adapter to up fit it to the LX Series. Not what I wanted, but I can't sell snow removal service without a blower, nor wait until where halfway through the season.:(

Well, good news for me. Dealer said he received a call that the LX2980 64" Commercial Snowblower will arrive next week. The rest of the tractor and loader are assembled. Going to take a look at it tomorrow. The wait is almost over.

I will certainly do that as nobody anywhere has pictures of it that I can find.
Looking forward to your report and pictures as I have the LX2980 also on order with my new lx3310 (expected delivery for me mid-November).

Best I can do for now is this picture. Visited the dealer today to tie up some loose ends and ended up buying forks for the tractor while I was there. The rear blade was ready to go, they still have to assemble the box scraper, and waiting for 3rd function, but salesman found one at another one of their dealer network stores. He thinks they will be delivering this beauty late next week. He told me the R14s were quite popular and the majority of LXs he sells have them. The lugs look bigger in person.

Ordered my Lx2980 blower the beginning of June and was told 3 months later that they are not available this year. Substituted the residential blower that was indicated as available but that also hasn’t arrived. Kubota is suffering from lack of basic equipment with no end in sight.

That's not what I wanted to hear. Hope my dealer wasn't BSing me when he said he received shipment notification of the LX2980...

Just spoke with my dealer, Service Motor Company in Wausau, WI. My tractor gets delivered tomorrow INCLUDING the LX2980 snowblower. He indicated in addition to mine, he had 9 of these snowblowers presold. Without notification, they all showed up yesterday at his dock. There's hope for those who are waiting! I'll post pictures on this thread when it arrives, particularly the 64" blower.

If anyone wants any detailed pictures of the blower or subframe, let me know! On the photo of the front of the blower, I placed my hat there for reference of that monster chute.

Just looked at the exact same snowblower that just arrived for my LX2610, and the backhoe for it showed up too....

Can you take pictures of the front of the subframe? I'd like to better understand how the blower connects.

Congrats on the new purchase and thanks for sharing.

It's actually a pretty simple connection between the sub-frame and the snowblower. Note the round pin on the top right of the sub-frame and the open hole on the bottom right...
20201015_172116[1].jpg

That round pin slides into the half-round in the top center of this picture of the snowblower, when lifting the sub-frame. Once that pin is seated, the spring loaded pin on the bottom right, engages in the lower hole in the sub-frame.

Hopefully these pictures help. I'd be happy to take any other pictures anyone might want.

Thank you for supplying the photos. Looks like a very interesting setup and far cry from the old "duckbill" mounting method used previously.

How time-consuming or challenging do you think it is to switch between FEL & snow setup? Is it something that you view as easily swappable mid-season or is this a, "on in the winter, off in the spring" seasonal swap?
