    L3600 Shuttle Shift problem

From the way you're describing this, kindly have a look at the drawing from my L35 (also with Shuttle shift) Do you think that the circled part (universal joint) has broken or come loose? Also look at part 060 the spring. The spring in your picture doesn't look OEM. Thoughts? Also notice part...

    Radiator Replacement M5-091

One of the most difficult things during my restoration was finding a radiator. Prices are ridiculous for radiators and you're right - nothing special sometimes. Same goes for mufflers. I finally decided that I could find a replacement if I focused on size and input/output. I ended up purchasing...

My 2008 BX 2350D has been running hot!

You obviously take good care of your tractor. I would also recommend checking the temp with an infrared sensor or similar before ripping things apart. Only other things I can think of is the fan belt slipping or something wrong with the water pump.

Kubota L35 TLB Body Work and restoration

Well, maybe I am using the wrong term. The cab is held to the tractor with what I am calling a subframe. On the left side and right side there are large angle brackets that mount to the transmission and support the cab on rubber mounts. I have replaced the left side cab support (retaining the...

Kubota L35 TLB - Injector and Glow Plug

Hi All, I thought since the machine was already down, I'd pull the injectors for a cleaning and see if I could locate the slight diesel leak. As expected, the injectors were pretty dirty and the leak was a cracked fuel return. I also had a bad glow plug so I carefully removed it (tried to) and...

Kubota L35 TLB Body Work and restoration

Here is the rest of the body/frame work. As you saw from the horrible rust on the left-hand side, the subframe was bad and there was no longer a step up to the cab. I've definitely grown tired of hopping up into the cab from ground level. Here is a new subframe to replace the rusted out section...

I have those same cheater pipes! One I have is about 4 feet long for hydraulic cylinders (and moving mountains).

Tools and Products - Making Jobs Easier

Good thread all! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences. In my other thread about "Kubota Body Work and Restoration", member Fried1765 provided a rust treatment he likes. I'd never heard of it but here's some info on it as well as other products. I'm sure we all could go on...

Kubota L35 TLB Body Work and restoration

I know - you'd think it was sunk in the Laurentian Abyssal along with Red October! I never head of OSPHO but I will post it in my other thread about "Tools and Products" - thank you. There's another product called Corroseal I've used that works pretty good too, Both products convert rust using...

Kubota L35 TLB Body Work and restoration

I'm close to completing a darn nasty job and thought I'd share a few pics. My poor old TLB has a lot of rust that I've been addressing, as you saw in my other posts. While I was repairing the GST shift mechanism, it occurred to me that the frame to which it mounts was junk. So off to the metal...

Tools and Products - Making Jobs Easier

I checked out the tite-reach.com website as recommended and that is so cool. I've only needed that tool about 1000 times. Thanks for this! I've also purchased some Fluid Film to try. My tractor has places that I'm unable to clean and paint such as inside of the structural tubing or areas...

    Wheel leak

My first thought was a product such as this: https://www.amazon.com/MULTI-SEAL-HYDRO-1500-Ballast-Filled/dp/B07PYMGGJC But then, although this may work just fine, you wouldn't have any idea of the actual wheel condition. Since it's the wheel and not the tire that's leaking, it might be best to...

Tools and Products - Making Jobs Easier

On the PB Blaster comments (blasting everywhere) - so right! Apparently PB has gotten the message because if you look at the newest can style (see my pic) they've added an adjustable spray control to the can that really works. I've not tried Kroil or Deep Creep - on my list to try now. I like...

Good point about the tire goosh. I went back and forth on this but decided to go with it anyway. I've used similar in motorcycle tires and always warn the tire place so they are not surprised.

    Kubota D1105 Engine Knock

Hi I listened to the sounds over and over and I can't draw a confident conclusion. I had a couple of questions since it seemed intermittent. 1) does the sound go away when hot (is it only there when cold?) 2) Have you disconnected any spinning items such as water pump, alternator looking for a...

Tools and Products - Making Jobs Easier

Hi All- I thought I would post some tools I use in my travels with motorcycle restoration and my tractor. I believe tools are an investment and having the right tool for the job saves time and frustration! Have you ever made your own tool? I have and although they were not pretty with shiny...

Kubota L35 Front End Service - Axle and Wheels

Very possible. Things were quite rusted as I began the work but I never saw any remnants of a grease fitting. I utilized electrolysis for a lot of the small parts to remove the rust.

Kubota L35 TLB - Gear Shift Change Mechanism

Here is my 2 cents: If you've never opened the gear shift mechanism it might be worth inspecting the cables. There is never a good time for these to break. Removing the assembly is pretty easy and the shifter knob unscrews from the shaft. I don't know if the long bolts and their spacers holding...

Kubota L35 TLB - Gear Shift Change Mechanism

Thank you! I love the 8N. I go to a lot of tractor shows and 8Ns are always around and looking fabulous! Paint and such is a lot of work - but I like the looks when I'm done. Believe me - never a dull moment around here!
