    Hour Meter

OW, maybe the hour meter calibrates it's self to the time zone it's working in and you just have LONG days in Pa. Actually, I think the engine has to run at like 2000 RPM to read accurate. It more or less measures how hard you work it, not how long it idles.

Tooljunkie, what do you pay for fuel up there?

    B8200 stopped while running

If, in fact, all the wiring including fuses and fusible links are proper, battery is fine and you're getting no power to anything would lead to believe it's in the main switch. I would think once that tractor is running it needs no electrical power to keep running. For it to just shut down...

    Separate Glow Plug Switch

philac, Have you ever taken a glow plug (out) and connected it to a battery and see how long it takes to get RED hot? A good GP will take a few seconds, maybe 5-6 seconds. Have you seen a GP that has gotten so hot the end swells? Have you seen a GP that swells to the point it does not come...

    Mowing

First off, she needs to be the kind of person who like to be outside in the summer and likes the results of a nice looking yard. She also needs a piece of mowing equipment she feels comfortable with and proud of. My wife started with a B6200 and belly mower. That was 1980! I changed the oil...

    I have a starting issue on a B3200

You hear about dryer sheets, moth balls and other chemicals to keep kritters out of wiring etc. I don't know if they work, but I put moth balls inside an old sock and tie the sock in any area I don't want them. I've also got an automatic feeder I can adjust the food volume and delivery time...

    Intermittent Power on L2600

It's got to be a relief to get it fixed. Diesels are pretty simple engines. They need compression, fuel and air and when one of those components gets out of kilter there's problems. I once bought a Case 930 tractor for peanuts because it had been dragged off a hay field because it just quit...

    Mowing

A dedicated mower makes it so nice your S.O. will be out mowing! We have (I should say my wife has) a 29HP Kubota powered Grasshopper. She mows frequently. It's way cheaper then therapy.:D

    How to remove BF300-A

CDKenn, I'll try to talk you through the process. I've got a B8200 I bought new in 1985 and installed the loader '87. I've probably had the loader off 3 times in all those years. I'll copy this out of the workshop manual... USE YOU OWN JUDGEMENT. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS. 1...

    dangerous bx2230 problem

whitetiger, you mentioned Fluid Film. I buy it in the gallon jugs. I use it on just about any moving metal part that needs less friction. It's best application is to spray on the underbody of my snow plow truck. You're right, spraying it on that spline is an excellent application It's now...

Using a gas can that previously had unleaded

At a hardware store you should be able to find a marker used for marking structural steel. It's like a tube of toothpaste with a small BB in the end that rolls when you put pressure on it. (Once you have a tube you'll use it for things you never dreamed of) You can print DIESEL or 50/50 or...

A Few Pictures Of Work Done

Skeets, good point. I highlighted what I think causes most operators to get into the trouble you just described. They THINK they know nothing is there, so proceed without locates. If you operate equipment on property other then your own, whether you receive pay or not, you best have digging...

    dangerous bx2230 problem

We need to understand terms. A split pin is more commonly called a cotter pin. It is often used by going thru a hole drilled perpendicular to a shaft and after a nut is installed spread the ends to keep the nut in place. Like a tie rod end. Definitely not an application to keep a U-joint on...

    dangerous bx2230 problem

If it's a "roll pin", a hard steel with an open side that needs to fit with an interference fit----install a new one with the correct OD (metric) and run a piece of wire through it to keep it in place.

Attempt at cutting small ditch with FEL

When you roll your bucket like that to cut a ditch in muddy soil you usually end up with pretty good ruts from your front tires. Doesn't look bad at all for a rain a couple of days ago. I have a trencher and dig frost footings. Rule of thumb is, if you get a handful of dirt and make a ball...

Attempt at cutting small ditch with FEL

navspewar, was it raining before you started digging, while you were digging or after you dug? Looks like a tad muddy to be working dirt, but then you didn't leave deep ruts and the water is in the ditch. What else could you ask for? Now about what piece of equipment to use.....? I've done...

    L245 Starting Problem

John 146, before you go to removing you IP I would suggest some patience. You indicated you had fuel at the output of your IP but not at the end of the fuel line at the injectors. You opened the bleed screw at the new filter and left it open until fuel ran out? Close that screw and go to the...
