    Boosted my hydro pressure. BX23S

A lot of folks here and in videos state the BX is delivered with a relaxed hydraulic pressure limit, and will take up to 2000 psi. I got a gauge and fitting and checked, and at PTO speed (~3000 rpm) it maxed out at about 1600. Huh? Wasn't expecting that low. I also bought from Messicks a .1...

    BX 23S Speed Change Rod

This makes me wonder how far one should go to tighten up nuts and bolts on these after they're new and you've put a few dozen hours on them. How do you know what to check? As far as how to get your washer and nut back on, the previous post sounds right. You'll have to get creative with a wire...

    That's kinda what figured.

    50 Hour Service (at 38)

I'm coming up on my 50 hr, which I plan to do myself. Since the hydraulics use the same fluid at the transmission, what about all the fluid in the actuators? Does one have to be concerned about leaving that behind? Or is it a small enough amount compared to the rest of the system that it...

Kubota OEM and Landpride attachment catalog

Get the Kubota 3rd function valve. Not 100% sure about others, but the Kubota kit replaces the FEL stick with another that has the diverter button nicely integrated right where your thumb is. I installed myself and it wasn't too difficult, but I took a couple shortcuts. If you get this, give...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Today I removed 7 rather large spirea from a flower bed, each with a substantial root cluster. Took me less than half and hour. I'm really loving my backhoe and grapple on my BX23. Doing this with a spade would have taken me over 3 hours and a lot of sweat and a sore back.

    Does this implement exist ?

Many different ways that aren't too difficult to get a cut. Again, it's building the quick attach plate that would take some time. I'm sure I could do it, but at times I'm beginning to worry that the tractor is like buying a small lathe and mill: you spend all your time using them to make...

    Does this implement exist ?

I do have a 3rd function valve now, which would work great for this. The problem is building up the steel for the quick-attach. I have a good welder, and the means to cut ( hand held band saw ), but I have no means to cut out shapes or bend thicker material. I should probably get off my duff...

    Does this implement exist ?

"up to" 4". I say that only because I wouldn't want it to struggle with the smaller stuff, which is mostly what I'd use it for. If something could easily lop down 2" brush, that would be enough for me and there wouldn't be any hazard.

    Does this implement exist ?

A nice attachment for small tractors such as the BX, and anything with a FEL, would be a small tree shear. Granted, I wouldn't expect anything that could lop down 8" diameter trees, especially considering the hazards. Rather, something with shear that could handle perhaps up to 4". So often...

    Backhoe ?

Fair enough. I think the problem I'm having is 1) my low experience, 2) the small pad size, and 3) perhaps my pressure is a wee bit too low? The pads really are undersized. I may try strapping on a couple of 2x6 about 12" long with some nice spikes sticking through and see how that does...

    hydraulic fluid level

No. The dipper and bucket cylinders are extended, the boom is retracted, and the swing is 50%.

    Backhoe ?

I've got the little B603 that came with the BX. It's certainly not a power house, but now that summer's here, I'm using it more than I thought I would. Stabilizer pads could be a lot bigger, however.

    Another Grapple Thread

Finally got it hooked up and it worked well clearing brush. Considering that connection to equipment is an unknown from LandPride, they'd be better to just provided capped 3/8 NPT hose ends, which from what I found is the most common fitting. As it is, I have their hose to one adapter, to...

    Another Grapple Thread

The only problem I have with it is that LP delivered it with what seems some very non-standard female couplers made by SafeWay. None of the male Pioneer plugs I could find in stores around me were compatible, and further they used a male ORB on the hose, and finding a female ORB to NPT seems...

    Another Grapple Thread

Picked up my LP grapple today and here's what I have to report about the 2018 build. With respect to older threads about LP weld and strength issues, it looks like they addressed them. First, the two lid pivot journals seem to be 3/8 steel now and are welded on 1-1/2 sides, which means they're...

So far I've been impressed by the knowledge base here. It's a good resource and a courteous environment.

    Another Grapple Thread

I pick up a Land Pride SGC0554 tomorrow. 3rd fn valve is in place and ready to go. Difficult to find someone with small quick-attach grapples in stock, and it's going to be a 2 hr drive down and another 2 hrs back. Local dealer has them "on order", but is very sketchy as to when they're...

Air in bucket and boom actuators

You sure about that? I thought over-pressure cracked a bypass valve. You shouldn't really be able to blow anything by the seals, should you? Admittedly, I don't know that much about modern hydraulic details.
