Made a plow for my BX23S

OK Gents, Gave the plow its first workout this morning on 8" snow and a 120' driveway and it worked really well, but there's a couple things I learned and also confirmed things others have recommended here in this thread. Bear in mind I have never operated/maintained a plow in my life so this...

And probably a heck of a lot cheaper too.

Made a plow for my BX23S

Not really. Excluding time to pick up the materials, probably have less than 12 hours in it. A power hack saw is indispensable.

They shouldn't rub as long as the bucket is level or pitched down slightly. The aforementioned bolt on edge would help too

Yeah, I've been considering a bolt-on 3/8 steel or a big piece of Delrin. The latter would be easier on the patio.

Made a plow for my BX23S

Four 2x4s cut to the curvature, then cinched them in with threaded rods to a 2x4 spanner on the back side. There's four 1/4" holes in the sheet the rods passed through. Just kept tightening the nuts until it warped it into shape, then tack welded. If I had to do it again, I'd probably...

Made a plow for my BX23S

Though I'd share this with you folks. Plowing snow with the 4' bucket works, but gets a bit tedious, so I thought I'd build a somewhat wider blade that would quick-attach to the bucket. Now, I certainly won't win any welding competitions, but it turned out solid and works well. Stores in a...

    BX23S First Impressions

It does in fact have a float. Right after I posted this thread, I saw the other thread about FEL float function. I did read through the manual, but not knowing any of the terms, that small section didn't make much sense as I guess I was looking for something stating "relief of hydraulic...

    BX23S First Impressions

I've had my BX about 3 weeks now and I'd thought I'd share some of my first impressions about it. First off, let me say I really like this machine and I'm sure it will serve me well ... no buyer's remorse at all. Upon playing with it a bit and plowing the driveway of snow a couple times, I've...

    Bx23s mowing over septic

Thanks for the responses. Still really not sure what the verdict is. I have a call into the excavator who installed my spill-over/pump tank. I have to believe he'd know for sure. If I hear back from him, I'll respond back.

    Bx23s mowing over septic

Hello Kubota folks. I'm new here and I've just bought a BX23S, and I found this thread interesting, as I have (had) the same concern. My current rider is ~600 lbs and I never gave a second thought to driving over the septic. The BX23S, from what I've found, is 1570 lbs and the 54" mower I...
