So it’s been almost 7 months since I ordered my B2601. The tractor itself was delivered relatively quickly (to the dealer) but it took until December 2021 for the loader and backhoe to arrive. That’s the good news. The bad news is that I still have no tractor. The bracket where the backhoe...

Thx Jimmy My neighbor was giving me gruff over the purchase, saying I could just rent one for a couple of weekends, blah, blah, blah. Of course he’ll be the first one to ask to borrow it when it arrives. :)

Thanks for the feedback. I did not buy it from Burke. I went to a Kubota dealer about 15 mi. from my house. I’ll be sure to make sure the parts all work when it finally comes in.

    First tractor

I pulled the trigger yesterday on a new B2601 with a 54” bucket up front and a backhoe with a 12” bucket. Dealer suggested the smaller BH bucket because the ground here is very rocky. I’m also getting the third-function valve and a grapple. I think for the work I plan on doing, the grapple is a...

Thanks PaulL I don’t foresee having to remove the loader very often. Maybe just switching between a bucket, pallet forks and maybe a grappler

Thx lynnmor I did a little more reading and it seems that the pallet forks might be something to think about adding from the aftermarket. I’m not sure that these pallet forks are adjustable. I thought I read that was something to consider. Same thoughts regarding the cutting edge (I didn’t...

I got the quote back from the dealer for this B2601 build ($29,100 after incentives): PALLET FORK FRAME BOLT ON CUTTING EDGE 7.0 FT BACKHOE + BACKHOE MOUNTING KIT FRONT LOADER LA435 36" PALLET FORKS (1000 LBS. CAPACITY) MECHANICAL 2 LEVER QUICK COUPLER 16" PIN ON BACKHOE BUCKET 54" QUICK...

Thanks Lynnmor I think you’re right about the length of my open trailer. It is also single-axle with no brakes. I’ll cross the trailer bridge at a later date. I’m not sure how often (if at all) the tractor would have to do double-duty at home and at the horse farm (family dues stuff that’s...

Just spoke with dealer in DE (Burke Eqpt). They have a couple in stock. They are going to put together a quote for me. I’m going to try and find some time to take a ride down there (~3.5 hr from me) to see one of these in person. On a related note, what size trailer would I need to move...

RCW, is the thumb an extra option on the backhoe? Sorry if that is a dumb question. It seems like that would make the most sense to have if I wanted to be moving rocks around, no?

Thanks RCW. I should correct my earlier post as the photo I clipped came form a dealer out in WA! THat's a looooooong way away for sure! lol That said, I have purchased cars and had them shipped across the country, but I'm assuming that probably won't be necessary when I'm ready to pull the...

    First tractor

I did a quick search for B2601 for sale. The closest one that came up is in OH, but just from the photos, it definitely looks like something i need to see in person. Like Pail said, it may be the perfect fit for what I need. I saw this new one with a FEL and a BH for $29000. No idea if that’s...

Thanks Paul. I have not seen the 2601 in person. I will see if there are any other Kubota dealers w/in driving distance this weekend. I’ll also try posting a picture of the rocks, boulders and trees I want to move as this might give folks a better idea of my plans for this property.

Also, my Turf Tiger is just two seasons old, so it should have a lot more gas in the tank before I’d have to consider a MMM, and hopefully by then we’ll be talking in terms of much bigger pastures.

The BX23S w/o a MMM was what I was originally thinking about until I actually saw the B2650 in person. I just liked the bigger size with the bigger tires and higher ground clearance. Does that sound ridiculous? I know the B would be more expensive but that’s nit really an issue. The one I saw...

Thanks. For mowing, I think I would just keep my Turf Tiger zero-turn, unless folks thought a tractor could deliver the same results. I don’t have any real obstacles to mow around and can get the yard done in about 30 min on the ZT. Until I stumbled in here, I never even considered getting rid...

    First tractor

Thanks Paul. I will check out that link. This is definitely more of a ‘WANT’ purchase as opposed to ‘NEED’. The primary initial use will be to do some clean-up, move some boulders, shore up a rock wall, and drag out some rotting trees. I am also building a 24x14 shed that I would use the...

    First tractor

Thanks. The local dealer didn’t have a lot of inventory on their lot. They did have a customers BX23S behind the shop so I got to see it in person for the first time. They also had a brand new B2650 with a cab but had no loader or backhoe, but I’m assuming you can buy them separate. They also...

Hello everyone This is y first post. I am in the process of scoping out my first tractor purchase and have sort of boiled it down to the classic BX vs B series tractor. We have two properties. The house we live in ia about 2 acres, evenly split between a large sloped lawn and a ring go trees...
