Weak Points on L534 Loader on B2650

Gosh, I looked/searched for about 30 minutes with the laptop. I'm coming up empty too. Sorry about that. I tried. I remember 'Cat or Lil Foot recently mentioning they had trouble searching with the new update. Maybe my experience is the same, but honestly I wasn't very good before...

    Daily Chuckle

My daughter from Philadelphia on a road trip to Montana: I gave the 👍👍 response... she agreed: Proof that genetics works.... We've got another that looks just like her; her identical twin lives in Santa Cruz, California.

Weak Points on L534 Loader on B2650

I do recall that thread, but couldn’t find it either. Maybe last fall, if I remember correctly? Seems like there were pictures of several folks with same issue. Question of design flaw came up. Seems like some on that thread did avery similar repair. Yours looks great. 👍 I’ll try to find it...

Delco Remy Starter Restoration - - 1953 Minneapolis Moline, and many others.....

Hmmm....great idea. Will have a look at that. Have some buddies with presses also. I wanted a slide hammer for a long while. Might be handy here. Tough part is that I think it’s just a 60+ year old Woodruff key being a PITA. Don’t want to frig that shaft up by brute force. Marrying the new...

Delco Remy Starter Restoration - - 1953 Minneapolis Moline, and many others.....

Guys - - - I need help. The hub in the last pictures doesn't want to give. It's the hub of the old Bendix that mounts to the rotor shaft. There's a key in there. The key is 90 degrees from where the set screw was. I can’t see it from the rotor side. Just not enough room. The key-way...

Began to pull old Bendix off. Looks like key is solid in there. Gave it a shot of PB Blaster and let it sit. Will try to tap it from the outer side to jar it loose after it sits.

Opened my redneck paint booth after some rigorous time with a die grinder and cupped wire wheel. Heck, it’s a cast engine part....not looking for a mirror finish. Guessing the nose cone should not be painted, but I can strip that off easily if needed. I did mask off the ID tag on the...

Delco Remy Starter Restoration - - 1953 Minneapolis Moline, and many others.....

Finished cleaning up the brush assembly. Everything is free and appears good. Used electric cleaner, that’s caused a little rust. Thinking of some light oil on the springs?

    Tractor Advice

To the OP, I stand corrected, and shouldn't be guessing. I was picturing the small-end standards of the L series. If D2Cat says certain L's will handle 550kg bales well, then they will. He's been there, done that...and that's the testimonial you can count on.

Pat's Easy Change VS Quick hitch

Yep, there’s some that swear by Pat’s and as many that swear by a QH. I really like my QH, but did have to modify a couple attachments. Not an issue with Pat’s. It’s almost like a Ford/Chevy or Dino/synthetic discussion. We all have our preferences.

    Tractor Advice

BigG hit it - an L isn't in the cards for a 550kg bale in my book. Yes, it might pick it up, but for feeding you need to drive the darn things around some distance.... that can get a little dicey... Depending on terrain/bumpy laneways, , etc., an MX might be challenged to drive one...

    MOPAR gear heads

skeets - - for what it's worth, the car museum took in a neat little '66 Valient convertible last year. 6 cyl, auto. We're going to use as a parade car, to replace '61 Chevy convertible, which was also a 6, but standard shift...odd combo for a convertible.

    MOPAR gear heads

Skeets - not a MOPAR guy, but impossible for a ‘64 numbers matching car to my knowledge. A 318 is a 318....great engine as we all know. If the owner is a younger guy, he may not know the small/big block difference. Or, depending on the model, we know many came as a 6 or an 8, and just...

    IBC container uses?

kvc - I’m just poking some fun at dirtydeed. We’ve chuckled about it a couple times. It really is a cool idea. You might need to look at picture #2 a little closer....... I did...🤓 A couple weeks ago he said the attire was just fine.....no safety britches required.....😎

Dirty - - you need to STOP posting picture #2....obvious outerwear safety violation and I’m jealous....:geek:👍

Mike - - Jim is no slouch either. 👍......there’s just too many smart guys to mention all by name.... That’s a Good problem to have! Remember as you bottle feed it you’re bypassing filters, etc, so make sure everything is clean and dry, including the fuel. You’re not looking for anything to...

Hope it’s decent paint, as I got a case of 6. $40 plus tax and shipping. Won’t paint the tractor with a rattle can, but at least the parts I have off it. Not sounding like the paint police, but the tractor was painted a non-OEM color for the model. The color is a MM color, but not correct...

    D1105 Rebuilt - now won't run.

Mike - since you're new to OTT, one thing I would strongly suggest is you pay particular attention to suggestions from lugbolt, whitetiger and Wolfman. Keeping Kubota machines operating is what they do..... We have many, many smart folks here that are willing to help. But like anywhere else...

On This Day in 1945, Japan Released Me from a POW Camp. Then US Pilots Saved My Life

Likely mentioned it before, but my Father-in-Law was 101st Airborne. He was young, deployed after D-Day, but went through the Ardennes battles. He did say a little of the Battle of the Bulge. Not sure of Bastogne. He would sometimes talk about the drive east. All he ever said was it was cold...
