looking for well pump advice. Updated!!!!!

Thats not a deep well. Mine is 640', the pump is set at 580' recovery is 2 GPM, and my 2 HP pump can be seeing 500' of head. As the plumber that did the original install discovered (x3) a 1/2 HP pump has the lifespan of a June bug. o_O Dan

    B7368 Third Function Question

There is no need to bleed air or relieve pressure. The plugs are typically part of the manufacturing process. The subplate is drilled to create the internal oil passages and pipe plugs are installed to seal off the ends. They are meant to be permanent and serve no other function. Here is a...

looking for well pump advice. Updated!!!!!

Thats not uncommon. Check for power at the pressure switch. If you have power try to reset the pressure switch. If no water flows when you manually operate the trip on the switch call a pump service. Watch and learn when they show up. Dan

    B7368 Third Function Question

Thats a D03 subplate and I cant think of any reason for set screws. Are you sure they are not socket head pipe plugs which are commonly used to close off the drilled passages in the subplate. Dan

    Hydraulic Pressure increase?

Assuming puny 1.5" lift cylinders a 300 PSI pressure increase boosts actuator force by 1000 pounds. I would call that significant. Thats why Kubota used tamper proof adjustment screws on the older loader valves  Dan

    B7368 Third Function Question

Probably just some residual surface oil and tightening the mounting screws did nothing. Just watch it foe signs of further leaks. Dan

    B2301 FEL and 3PH Problems

Houston we have lift off!! The power beyond coupler for the backhoe is your problem. Its not passing flow which blocks the exhaust oil from the upstram loader valve. The BH70 backhoe works because it uses tank return for all its exhaust oil. DAN

    B2301 FEL and 3PH Problems

OK - that hoe has three connections to the tractor: Tractor outlet port Hoe power beyond back to tractor 3pt Hoe tank return back to tractor sump Its possible the power beyond coupler is the culprit. Because that hoe has a real tank return it would still operate with the power beyond circuit...

    B2301 FEL and 3PH Problems

This is always confusing. Backhoe supply hose is tractor outlet hose. Thats how the tractor supplies oil to backhoe. Looking at the picture its not easy to do what I asked. I better go back and look at exactly how the hoe is plumbed into the circuit. What is the model number of the backhoe...

    B2301 FEL and 3PH Problems

What that says: You have good flow to base end and with rod end open to bucket loader lifts fine. That says something was blocking rod end flow when hose was connected Loader wont drop. The base end coupler is flowing fine so something is also blocking that return flow. Put that together and...

    Hydraulic Pressure increase?

Run time and dirty oil is what kills pumps and cylinders. Both can handle 2000 PSI with no problem. Plus thats the relief setting. The vast majority of the time they are running well below that. Dan

    B2301 FEL and 3PH Problems

Removing the hoe is fine but not informative. You still need to test the loader lift cylinder circuit as I described. Lowe the loader to the ground. Disconnect the lift cylinder rod end hose at the quick coupler. Cap the coupler and stick tje end of a hose in a bucket. Start the trsctor and...

    rear remote

First suspect when a valve is hard to operate is the linkage. Those valves are cable operated - disconnect the cable at the valve to see if the cable operates OK without the valve. I can't tell you how the valve centers. On some tractor models Kubota offered detented valves and valves with a...

Hydraulic thread question - what type?

Technically (BS-21) PS (obsolete) is the Rs variant of BSPP Rs = external parallel thread for fits made on machined face per BS-21 Appendix C. Most hydraulic shops/suppliers will know that as G thread or simply BSPP. You want a gasketed/bonded G thread port adapter. Something like this...

Yes, another newbie question, this time on fittings!

Nothing silly or naive. - thats all you need. The hose swivel is female pipe. What is the port thread on your new coupler? Dan

Yes, another newbie question, this time on fittings!

The smaller end is not JIC. Looks like standard male NPTF. The cone seat is used to mske the seal when a female pipe swivel (NPSM) id screwed on to it. The larger end has PTFE tape on it so its most likely tapered pipe (NPTF). Dan
