Chain mount for front of L2501

Yes, and it also removes the mill scale (which was my motivation) Sometimes I use Muriatic acid when I can do it outside, but in the winter I use vinegar cause I can do it in the basement.

Thanks, but it's not really that big. It's a Thermal arc 185, but I beveled the hook and did multiple passes and then a cover pass to with the mig machine in order to make it look better.

    Changing oil in tiller?

Can't hurt to change it. Cheap insurance. I only do about 1 acre for food plots, so I could probably get a long time out of it, but will change it every couple of seasons. I worry more about condensation than actually the oil breaking down.

Total was about $5K when you include all the materials to fix the ceiling.

Better Late Than Never……. Kubota Lift

I went with an Atlas 2 post with overhead cables as well. I have never regretted it. I think it was about $2400 with free shipping and no tax ( used to love that 'no tax' thing). I've had too many lumps on my head using 4 post hoists, and I worked at a shop that had those plates on the floor...

Chain mount for front of L2501

After a soak in vinegar for a day or so it was ready for top coat. I had a Quart of Rust-O-Lem bed liner paint that I have been happy with so I decided to use that.

Chain mount for front of L2501

Then disaster struck......I was using a #10 cup and had the machine cranked to the max and the cup was glowing red when I set it down on the cool table top it popped and cracked in half. So there I am at 0530 on a Sunday morning with no suitable replacements for my tig torch. I typically...

After placement was finalized I knocked off the D-rings to allow room for my tig torch.

Chain mount for front of L2501

I could not decide between chain hooks and D rings. So my solution was.....both. I also decided to add a top plate to utilize the 4 existing holes and a middle stiffener to help minimize flexing

Since buying the tractor I have been trailering it way more than I thought I would between the cottage and home. I was using straps and they worked good for a while but I noticed some chaffing recently and that did not sit well with me. I decided to switch to chains but the idea of scraping...

    Homemade Brush guard.

Here are some pics of the clamps I made to make it removable. I originally used electrical tape to guard against chaffing, but yesterday I used an old bicycle inner tube and cut out small sections to go in between the clamp and the brush bar instead.

    Car Lift For Tractor Servicing

I don't have one, but I can see that as a very worthy project. In regards to the hoists your planning on. That is another one of those "why didn't I do that 20 years ago?" moments (actually the answer to that question for me was, because I was a mechanic 20 years ago and didn't need one at home...

LOL.... My wife says that the sales guy "saw you coming from a mile away". I just couldn't pass up 84 months at 0 percent.

    Homemade Brush guard.

Decided to give it a whirl and make my own grill guard. I really did not like the idea of grinding on my new tractor in order to weld something on permanently so I made some clamps that allow me to unbolt it. That has worked out well. Not too long after I installed it I was going too fast in...

Yea, hate to have that thing landing on my skull. But have no fear, I do lots of other dumb stuff to make up for it. LOL
