    Chains?

I’m scheduled for a Friday delivery for chains and the plow is supposed to come Monday. Maybe this weekend I’ll shift the tires to gain width and install the chains.

    Chains?

These will be my first chains. I think it depends on your tires and traction needs. I heard opinions here that duo’s don’t drop between the tire lugs providing better traction so for my tires I’d go with duo’s.

    Chains?

Took my sons advice (he’s an accomplished fabricator and mechanic) and ordered the lower priced chains today. The Tryggs were twice as expensive. We feel confident that these chains will do what we need them to.

Wow! What an experience you had. Thanks for the advice.

    Chains?

Tractortirechains.com part #ST14928-08 How do these look to you folks with experience? Under $700 for the pair. They are made in China.

    Chains?

Looks like I can widen it with the tire/wheel reconfiguration. A buddy offered to help and has done it before (in reality I’ll be helping him!). The chains I’m going to order are the studded (euro?) style. Plan to pull the trigger on them today.

    Chains?

Is reversing the rear tires an option to increase width? I haven't found a good video on it yet.

    Chains?

I was reading on another chain thread here about someone adding spacers. Where would I get those? Through the dealer?

    Chains?

Good advice, thank you. I think I will call the chain place next week and ask about clearances before I order. I'm leaning toward the V-Bar chains which likely need more clearance .

    Chains?

I've got barely 1 1/2" (used a 2 x 4 and it was tight). Would I be cutting it too tight?

    Chains?

I did a couple of searches on here about chains. I have a hilly mile of dirt and gravel drive to keep open here in Northern Michigan. We had a heavy and dense 12" drop last Saturday. I pulled the trigger on a 7' blade for the front that is scheduled to arrive mid-January. I have a snow...

    No heat L4630

Thanks for your replies Fruitcakesa and DaveFromMi. I'll take some time this weekend to remove the top and a check things out. I haven't noticed the fog being oily or difficult to wipe off and I don't know what antifreeze smells like so maybe I have two different issues. On a happier topic...

    No heat L4630

Still no luck chasing down where my anti freeze is going but maybe today was a clue. I ran the tractor today with outside temps in the low 40's. My windows were fogged on the inside and I realized that my windows are always fogged on the inside. Regardless of outside temps, If I am running...

    No heat L4630

Sorry for the delay here. I decided to try adding coolant again. I used a funnel the first time but didn't this time. It took about 1/2 gallon this time and when I tried the heat it was working fine. The temp gauge might have been a bit higher then normal when I ran it prior to adding...

    No heat L4630

Last year my 4630 wasn't throwing any heat. Found the coolant low, filled it up and all was fine. This year, no heat and the coolant is full (tried adding and it wouldn't take any). Any suggestions? I've had this tractor 3 years, 2200 hours on it. I've greased it, had the hydraulic fluid...

L4630 3 pt slow to lift

An update. I think you may be right about air working out pokey. I ran the tractor for awhile yesterday and the 3 pt lift response seemed to be improving as time went on. I'll keep an eye on the HF levels as well. Happy New Year to everyone.

L4630 3 pt slow to lift

Thanks for the welcome. You might be right. It was fine before the whole leaky coupler and adding fluid event. So, maybe it will get better with use? Using the Kubota brand hydraulic fluid the local dealer recommended. I suck at mechanic work so rarely do service stuff (embarrassed emoticon...

L4630 3 pt slow to lift

Thanks for the reply. I'm in the UP of Michigan so it will get below zero later in the year but so far into the teens. This is my 3rd winter with the tractor and this is a new issue. I'll check the fluid I bought from the local Kubota dealer.

L4630 3 pt slow to lift

Hello. My first post here. Very glad to have found this site. I have a L4630 GST. My 3 point has a time lag in the lifting operation. I am using a back blade for snow removal. It is now necessary to come to a complete stop, lift the lever and wait for the back blade to rise. Maybe 3 to 5...
