How do these look to you folks with experience? Under $700 for the pair. They are made in China.

With these style of chains you need to be buying them from a dealer who will stand behind their fit.

With a brand new M7040 with 16.9 x 28 R4 tires I thought chain fit would be simple. Trygg advertised their product as not needing any fitting to work.

When I installed them, the diamond pattern you see in your posted photo overlapped. i.e. the chains were too long.

In the end it turned out that the tires on the new tractor were 3" smaller in diameter than the Tire and Rim association spec. 3" in diameter meant 9" too long in length.

Kubota took no responsibility.

Fortunately for me TRYGG stepped up, had me ship the chains to one of their distributors in Canada who rebuilt them to fit the dimensions of the tires I had.

A good price from China on a set of chains which do not fit properly will mean decades of frustration for you.

I ran chains on my big rigs for years. I tried running them super tight. They almost always broke! Tried running them loose. They kept coming off. I settled on loosely snug. When rolling, they would almost lift off the tire on top and hit the ground just in front of the tire. A set would last me far longer and give better traction in this tension than any other way. I've been on chains in excess of 20k miles in my career.

Took my sons advice (he’s an accomplished fabricator and mechanic) and ordered the lower priced chains today. The Tryggs were twice as expensive. We feel confident that these chains will do what we need them to.

These will be my first chains. I think it depends on your tires and traction needs. I heard opinions here that duo’s don’t drop between the tire lugs providing better traction so for my tires I’d go with duo’s.

I bought my Euro chains for my old L4730 with R4's and when I sold it found that the R1's on my M6040 were a much bigger wheel and tire. I ended up adding a cobbled bunch of short chain pieces and quick links to get it to fit.
I put them on so that there is a bit of slack and add a couple of bungees to keep them snug but not too tight.

I went to my local auto and truck parts store yesterday and got a set of Duo chains for my m6060. $900 made by General chain. Ill install them today.

I’m scheduled for a Friday delivery for chains and the plow is supposed to come Monday. Maybe this weekend I’ll shift the tires to gain width and install the chains.

Happy New Year. Chains came today and I was able to get them installed. They were long so I had to make a few cuts. It went pretty smooth. Did some blowing and plowing, a g huge improvement! Thanks to everyone who ofered suggestions.

Great job installing those chains! Do you have a picture of the section where the ends meet? Just wondering how that transition point looks. You mentioned having to make some adjustments to get the fit to your satisfaction.

Your installation pictures look like they should be an advertisement for the chain manufacturer!
