    Want good weather!

Nice to be able to reach the loader controls and B/H controls at the same time. This allows you to literally "walk" the tractor out as I did at the bottom of a pond that I was cleaning out a couple of years ago. Another time I was in the same area with my bush hog and got stuck when I...

    Loader hyd lines rubbing paint!

Just make sure you use the black ones as they are UV resistant and last longer outside.

We've been splitting fire wood the wrong way for years

    She is here!

Congratulations also. My next tractor will have a heated cab. P.S. How is the snow down there? My mother was from Springhill and her family had a cottage at Heather Beach for years.

    Any car gurus here?

I bought two new Goodyear tires for the front of a car a couple of years ago and had lots of thumping especially when going around ramps. Dealer said there was nothing wrong with them until I interchanged front to back. He then replaced one at a time and of course it was the second one. The...

We've been splitting fire wood the wrong way for years

I'm with you on that one Wolfman! I also used to split about the same all by hand until I had a maple tree cut down that was about 100 feet tall and over 30" across at shoulder height. My 40' ladder just barely reached the first crotch so I hired professionals' to bring it down in pieces since...

    Bracket for Kubota Thumb

I can't see any problems as there do not appear to be any hydraulic lines in the immediate area you would be welding. Watch how you are welding and do it gradually so as not to distort the dipper arm. Protect anything in the vicinity from flying sparks. Are you going with a hydraulic thumb or...

    I hate my dealer

Thanks! I just sent a note to Kubota Canada to see what they say. Their web site states well under $200. It also says that all 1985 and newer tractors came with a ROPS so what happened to mine? Did they deliver a 1984 model to my dealer and sold it as a 1985?

    I hate my dealer

How come you guys in the great US of A can purchase your ROPS so cheap? Around 1990 I got a letter from Kubota Canada informing me that ROPS were now mandatory in Canada on new tractors and recommended that I go to my dealer for one. The dealers price was $900 so I just made my own for under...

    I hate my dealer

Fortunately my dealer is great and sells both Kubota and John Deere. The owner that I purchase everything from just died suddenly on Sat. but his family will carry on. When I bought my tractor in 1985 I checked out the International's (now Case) but didn't come close to compare to the Kubota...

    Post Hole Digger question

I have tried that but when it is stalling there is so much force on the mechanism that it is very hard to disengage by hand. I have been thinking of welding a handle to the operator to give more leverage. I have tried kicking the trip lever but just find it too dangerous. When it hits a rock...

    Post Hole Digger question

I had to work on it when I first purchased it. Went down so fast when cleaning out the hole that the cable got slack in it and then yanked tight quickly. Probably why the pulley shaft is bent a bit. Another problem part was the trip leaver that was originally not strong enough and would...

Winter Upgrade Kit for Snowblower Chute Winch

Great job! I think we have proven on this forum that there are a million ways to make the chute go around. What type of winch is that? I might be able to use it on one of my future projects.

    Expensive Cheap Parts Lesson

I agree! When it comes to critical parts on my Kubota I always use oem parts. For non critical items such lighting etc. I might use aftermarket parts. The only time that I have swayed from this is certain automotive suspension and driveline components where I have found aftermarket components...

    Post Hole Digger question

That was my concern 25 years ago when I was shopping for a PHD. Thought that I would have problems getting it out of the ground with my small tractor if it got hung up. Ended up purchasing an old Continental similar to the one in the picture below. I have dug a ton of holes with it and it...

    Photobucket privacy

This reminds me of when a friend sent me an email via another forum a few years ago. He had attached a link to a single photo in his Photobucket account which at the time was all I could see. I while later I downloaded some camera software from a new camera that I had just purchased. At some...

    B-7100 hst Hydraulic Pump Removal

If all the hydraulics are working fine indicating that there is no excessive wear in the gear pump I would just open it up and replace the parts as Wolfman stated. I am sure these are pricy to replace. You did not say exactly where it is leaking but you might find that it is a simple fix.

    Photobucket privacy

Just a heads up, I recently noticed that one could view all the photos in my Photobucket library's by just goggling my user name no matter how I had set the privacy settings. The privacy settings (if set properly) only work when using a link to a specific photo and will not allow any other...

    Bucket chain hooks?

The regular hook would be the most versatile but depends on what you are mostly using it for. My bucket has holes in it that I just put a clevis in to hook anything to. I am usually using a tow rope with hooks on either end to pull wild grape vines out of trees.

    Firewood Processor build

Nice work! The best part is always the self satisfaction you get when it is up and running. Make sure you do not skimp on safety guards. Nice lathes as well, I just have an older Myford but does everything I need only slower.
