I just got this little machine from a guy who said there was a small hydraulic leak and all he did was refill. Well, I hate things that leak and you are just playing russian roulette! My question, has anyone changed the hydraulic pump out. It is leaking from the pump and with the number of hours it has on it, I should just replace it. Anyone have any tips?

If you like spending money, yea just replace it.
If you like saving money, rebuild it with new seals, o-rings and gaskets.

If all the hydraulics are working fine indicating that there is no excessive wear in the gear pump I would just open it up and replace the parts as Wolfman stated. I am sure these are pricy to replace. You did not say exactly where it is leaking but you might find that it is a simple fix.

You can go to Kubotabooks.com and download all the manuals from now.
You'll have to wait till the first of the month to do it, the website gets suspended due to over use.

You can just take out the 3 bolts and one nut, there is not really a shaft just a keyed union. it's an easy removal.
Yep a cracked case would be a replace and not a rebuild!

Leafy England....
just to clarify guys, which pump are we talking about here, the engine mounted pump or the hst drive pump.
if the latter then its going to cost an shed load to replace, if the engine mounted pump then parts are readily available and you can cross ref same spec pumps for a decent low price.
If damage is as described i wouldnt even bother repairing better off replacing it.
i have a b7100 pump here as a spare, but they readily available new or used, and by third party companies.
