    L3800, electrical advise

L3800, electrical advise needed! Ok, I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to most matters electrical. So I need your responses to be in simple terms for a simple guy. I just picked up a small atv broadcast seeded, that I would like to modify to fit on my tractor. It has a 12VDC electric motor...

    Helpful Advice, Please

The main thing I would add would be a light or indicator on the dash letting me know that I'm in 4 wheel drive, as well as one for the parking brake. It's not hard to figure out if the brake is on but it would be nice. I have found myself running around in 4 wheel drive on a number of occasions...

    Helpful Advice, Please

I have the L3800, and 9 acres with similar use for my tractor. I think that L3400, with that few hours, would be a great fit for what you need and the price seems reasonable. If you don't know the service history, do a fluid change and you should be good to go. From what I have gathered, the...

Need feedback on L3800 price quote

I agreed to pay somewhere around $18500 for mine. FEL, HST, no cruise and no implements included. So your price seem about right. Get it, you'll love it....

    Sooo what would you offer?

That's kind of a funny statement, you can't sell anything of yours without giving it away but you offered a low ball price. Haha The seller should at least put a number out there and shouldn't be offended when he didn't. Why would he think you would start high? I sold a car a long time ago...

    L3800HST First service

Drew, that filter is cleaner than mine and I didn't think mine was bad at all. Bluegill, I didn't replace the fluid in mine either. I had intended to but the dealer told me it wasn't necessary and I had them double check. The manual only says to change the filters a 50 hrs, so I'm good with it...

    L3800 brush mowing advise

I'll second what bluegill posted. At first, I kept my FEL on all the time but now I find that I have it off more than on. Give it a shot its easy...

    L3800HST First service

I thought about cutting open the filters, just out of curiosity. I used to ride dirt bikes hot and heavy and we used to inspect the filter and oil after every oil change, we didn't have to cut it open of course. The life span of the newer 4 stroke engine is short so we changed the oil and...

    L3800HST First service

Just curious, what did your filter with the magnet look like? Anything like number 9's or more like mine and bluegills? Yeah that fuel filter is messy, I broke my fuel filter body and I had fuel everywhere until I stuck a boot in it, I like bulldogs idea of installing a shut off valve.

    Jerky 3-pt hitch - still a problem ??

I have the hydrostatic trans, so mines noisy but from what I gather they are all like that, hydro anyway. My TPH is not jerky at all, btw. Sorry for the double post, I forgot what I was going to say.

    Jerky 3-pt hitch - still a problem ??

Check your fluid, mine was low from the dealer. There is a sight glass near where your left foot sits. It should read somewhere between the top and bottom of the site glass.

    L3800 brush mowing advise

I agree with number 9, take the FEL off when mowing. It's much easier to take on and off than I thought it would be.

    L3800HST First service

Wow, I did my service yesterday too and I didn't have anything near that on my magnet. I'll post a picture of mine after I get up and get into the garage.

    L3800HST First service

I might do my service today, does it matter if my FEL is off the tractor? Does the fluid circulate through the FEL and the entire system when you are operating the tractor? I'm ignorant about how the hydro/trans system works. Thanks Ben

    Anyone with HST L3800

Mine sounds the same for the most part. Check your hydro fluid in the site glass. Mine was low from the dealer.
