Anyone using oil extractor on dual drain Kubota engines?

Yeah. Had a 240D Benz with the oil filter RIGHT THERE. Then had a VW TDI with it on top, not quite as easy as the Benz's.

Anyone using oil extractor on dual drain Kubota engines?

That one plug was still leaking when I pulled it out yesterday to grease it. Tightened the damn thing again. Next change, I'm using my oil extractor and determine which side it will remove the oil from. Will not remove that plug at least. Have been using oil extractors for years. Only way...

    50 hour service

Needless waste of oil if you're using synthetic. Go the full hours/miles. I'm into multiple years on the pickup and two cars and generator driver. Think it's been about 7 on the generator. If you still insist on once/yr, save $ by just using dino oil. Can likely get 10w30 in dino oil.

    50 hour service

Hmm. Thought I'd posted about the oil change. Cannot find. So, I'll cover both. Pisses me off that I could not use my oil extractor due to the dual drains on the oil pan. One plug that gave me troubles getting it back in was found leaking when I did the HST filters. Tightened it. Now you...

    R14 vs Turf Tire ride

R14s have a better ride than R4s, probably about the same as turfs I had on the 1st (of 4) tractors. Had LOTS of troubles with the front turfs on the 1st tractor.

    Oil not dirty

The only diesel I've owned where the oil was not black after the first oil change has been the Isuzu. It was still virtually clear at the 50 hour oil change. Blackest was on the 240D Benz that we kept into its 26th year. It had EGR. Not sure, but I think the Isuzu does not.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Eye balled those 2 HSTish filters while changing the oil on the B2601. Details in maintenance section under 50 hour change.

Is the rule of thumb, "if you can reverse up the hill, you can drive up the hill"?

Up the hill in 4wd is the way I'd go. I have one like that off the right side of our driveway. ALWAYS run in 4wd unless you're going a long distance on paved surfaces. Otherwise, you only have 2 wheel brakes on the rear, and the rears will skid going down a slope. If they skid sideway...

    Wheelie bars on this tractor?

People are really really stupid doing wheelies on all kinds of wheeled equipment. Utter stupidity and machinery destructive/abusive.

    Knee pain from HST?

I can see it if you backed up a lot. The reverse pedal is not user friendly.

Heads-up on a zero turn upgrade

No. I just got the first one on that way and figured I did not need the V to shed mud. Left it that way and mounted the other one that way.

Heads-up on a zero turn upgrade

No air filter. No gas. No oil. No sparkplugs. No belts. No gearboxes. There is a mulch cover.

Heads-up on a zero turn upgrade

    I've always mulched.

    Buckets Dropping When Tractor Shut-off

On all 4 tractors so far, the FEL would drop if left up and shut down. 3phs stay in place. Have no idea re the clicking.

Is the max allowable RPM the "rated revolution" shown in the owner's manual?

Max rpms are set by govenor. Rated rpm is for 540 rpm on the rear PTO.

    towing a Kubota with HST

My neighbor towed my JD 4010 from my back yard to the driveway and towed the lemony JD 1025R from the back hill up to the carriage house. Just put both tractors' HSTs in "N". He towed with a strap that ran underneath the FEL to hold it up out of the way. Think both had the brush hogs dragging.

    50 hour service

Hmm. Informative stuff. I remembered an old filter attached to the bottom of the stairway to the carriage house attic. Filter appears still good. Never used it much. May just catch oil in a clean container and use the filter via the Ironton extractor pump sucking on the container and filter...
