Best way to grease zerk fittings

I’m glad you found everything. I don’t think the stiffness of the treadle pedal is due to the grease point. On mine, it seems like a very sloppy fit. I would think the stiffness is caused by some adjustment along the linkage. Luckily my pedals aren’t stiff. Also, I bought a “grease fitting...

Best way to grease zerk fittings

You don’t need to get under the bucket at all. The zirks are designed for easy access. Lifting the arms allows you to get the few remaining zirks. You shouldn’t be under anything. Start greasing and you will see. It’s no big deal. Just do it often

Best way to grease zerk fittings

Put the bucket in the resting position and grease every one you can. Then raise it up and get the ones that are accessible only when the bucket is raised I believe there are 6 zirks on each side. Don’t forget the 2 fittings on each side, right next to the bucket. And if you have a SSQA...

EverythingMoneyAttachments. All the money up front?

I didn’t know they had shareholders?!?!? Why don’t they just buy the steel from China already cut out. Then simply weld things together like so many other companies do. Maybe they can do partial welds to save time and money. Then they can sell things REALLY cheap and take over the entire...

EverythingMoneyAttachments. All the money up front?

Computers are only as accurate at the programming and the user input. Their business is thriving using the business model they have been using for years. Why would they change it if it’s working so well? Their business is manufacturing, welding, designing, producing. I wouldn’t want to deal...

EverythingMoneyAttachments. All the money up front?

Think about it as a smart business decision. Less paperwork for them to deal with. If someone puts a deposit down then they might have to chase the person down to get full payment. That entails more time spent with each order, probably hiring another person just to keep track of who owes what...

    Do I have a problem?

It looks like the O-rings they put in the hydraulic cylinders at the factory when they paint everything. Is there any orange paint on it? If that’s what it is, it’s totally unnecessary and can be removed. Check your other cylinders to see if you can find them pushed to the end of the rod.

    Making first tractor purchase

Haha. Yes, I realized you were talking about the quicktack. There seems to be more issues with them then they are worth. Does anyone really disconnect the loader so often that they need one of those? Wouldn’t it be better to educate people about relieving hydro pressure before attempting to...

    Making first tractor purchase

I have an LX2610 and it’s a great machine. I have 14 acres of mostly hardwood forest and it’s great for getting in between trees etc. It’s worth it. Things to consider, the lx is the newest model. It will probably be in production for many years. Not sure about the B. I wouldn’t get a loader...

Messick's shipping. You've got to be kidding me!!!

It makes me wonder how much is actually because of Covid. And how many layers deep it goes. For instance, more people are ordering things so that would slow everything down. Workers could be sick. Etc. Or maybe it’s just a convenient excuse to blame everything on. I’m still waiting for the...

    First coolant change questions L3901

Service it the best you can. Most people never change coolant until the radiator leaks. If you want to go the extra mile, it will give you piece of mind that you’ve done everything possible to prevent wear and tear on your machine. I would pick up a cheap tester to give yourself piece of mind...

    How long would it take?

It will take about 3 years to see the pile compress. If you can crush them down it will be better for it. And if you can it lose organic material on top it will speed the decay. The more it stays moist, the faster it will decay. After the pile start collapsing under its own weight, crush it...

LX3310 With FEL Bucket Total Length

I have a lx2610 with a cab. They are the same except for engine size. With the bucket flat on the ground, from the blade to the rear tire it’s about 148”. My backhoe is not attached at the moment but maybe this measurement will help.

    Selecting pallet forks

You might want to think about getting forks with a rock guard on them. The dealer tried selling me forks without a rock guard and I wasn’t having it. https://www.everythingattachments.com/Small-Compact-Tractor-pallet-Forks-p/eta-scpf-42.htm These are suppose to be 238 pounds and rates for...

    Thinking about building a trailer

Just another update I thought I would share I’m thinking I will build the 14k version. I need to get the axles ordered as well as other things. And I’m thinking about going with 4” drop axles. That way, loading my tractor with the backhoe won’t be an issue. As well as giving me a lower center...

    Thinking about building a trailer

Yes. 5 ton and 7 ton trailers. They use a lot of road salt around here too. It sucks but that’s life. If I decide to build a trailer, I’m sure I will end up spending more money on upgrading things, but that’s the fun part.

    Thinking about building a trailer

Update I priced out pets today and it’s not as bad as I thought it might be. For a 10k tilt trailer build, I will need about 1400 pounds of steel. At a cost of around $1.40 a pound I’m looking at around 2k for steel. Two axles with brakes, springs, and tires is about $1580 For a total of...

    Thinking about building a trailer

Fun fact. Termites only eat wood that’s touching the ground. They need moisture and the ability to return to the ground... lol

    Thinking about building a trailer

Thank you for the suggestion. Last time I built a trailer the dmv need receipts for the axles. I will check that again and see if it’s changed. Thanks for the harness link. I will check them out. If i wanted to build a flat trailer with no special tricks, I would probably just design it...
