    M7040SUD Shop Manual

The Bulletin I posted doesn't specifically include the 7040 tractors but when you look up the part in the official Kubota parts it references to this bulletin. The controller used on the 7040 is the same design ( maybe speced a little differently re displacement etc. ) as the one in the...

    L3301 No Fuel Flow

Actually I think you are right! The fuel returns to the top but the outlet is on the bottom according to the parts diagram! I was going by the diagram I posted from the WSM which is a little misleading.

    L3301 No Fuel Flow

Because the fuel lines enter the tank near the top the fuel would have to initially be drawn in by the pump but once the lines are full it would likely flow freely to the separator if the fuel level in the tank is high enough

It can only be done from the steering shaft end. Don't remove the 7 bolts and/or disassemble the controller! The chances of getting it back together again and operating properly are remote. You might change your mind when you see the price of the seal.

    RTV900 shifting issues

Cable adjustment or, more likely a bent shifter. If it has been jumping out more than a few times it will likely need new gears inside as they soon wear out from slipping out of engagement while under load.

    M4000 Power Steering

We had lots of problems with the PTO on the early M7's I have been retired for 3 years now so hopefully the problems are all in the past. I'm certainly not sorry that I don't have to work on M7's anymore! I miss the M6's and all the other M series though!

    M4000 Power Steering

The M7 transmission is built by ZF. The same company that builds the transmissions for Fendt and a few other companies. The engine is Kubota alright and the tractor is assembled in France. There are very few parts available from Kubota for the M7 transaxle. If one fails you either buy a new one...
