Absolutely correct about those battery connections in post 3. That was an example of a front battery install. Great idea not so great execution. Correctly potted / molded cables are always best.

The size battery depends what you can stuff in it without it overheating. Some have front mounted batteries and some have rear mounted batteries. Mine is still in the stock location because I don't have temp problems with the size installed. I've attached some pictures of a front mount, others...

Last 175 I had one of the shift forks broke and it hang in the gear set that was floating back and forth. As said pull the cover, drain the oil if you have to, and do not lose any balls or springs!

Just acquired another T1600 and this one is minty fresh. Just over 350 hrs and supper clean. The brakes were stuck but bow all good. Super nice. The seat is really the only thing that is worn out on the top.

Belts that die way to soon, check: The tensioner bearings and pulley for smoothness and not worn out if round. Lower PTO pulleys, make sure there is no lip on them to fray the belts. And lastly make sure all pulleys are in near perfect alignment after replacing or verifying parts.

Looking for just tires or wheels and tires? Front or rear?

I know it will be harder to find parts for than the Ford but I could use something smaller and 4WD. Looks like that Red River outfit is a source of parts. I can't many other sources for it.

Mee too. My deck was well worn out and I found another RC48-G20 local with virtually no rust for $150. I'm very happy. The G1800/1900 decks were a little better.

Well, took some of the tractor apart today to what was wrong with the clutch. Found out what was wrong with the clutch. The clutch plate/flywheel was busted and the hole for the input shaft is elongated. My understanding is this is a cast part and was just another weak link of the tractor...
