    DPF Regeneration

Not necessarily….just add a Turbo ;) L2501 = 44.1 HP and 35 PTO without DPF. However, no more Kubota warranty... Mike

    New Kubota or Kioti

I like this analogy when comparing the two tractor brands. Especially considering I currently own vehicles from Toyota, Honda….and Kia (in addition to others). Mike

    Im new

That’s fair. I too hadn’t owned any acreage before purchasing my 5 acres here in the PNW roughly 8 years ago. There’s definitely a learning curve. If you have some time, please read part 1 of my thread here...

    Im new

Congrats on your 5 acres and for looking to purchase your first tractor! That’s exciting! You haven’t listed any tasks/chores/jobs you have planned for your tractor so it’s difficult to get into any detail. However, I’ve owned a Kubota B2601 and it is a great tractor! I highly recommend it...

Mowing Grass - Help With My Next Mower, Please

My property isn’t smooth and has some pretty steep hills. I used to mow with my B2601 w/ 60” MMM. It was perfectly adequate and didn’t use much fuel which was great. It took me 4 hours. My mowing time is now 2 hours with the Cub Cadet Pro Z ZTR, plus, it’s a lot safer. Nothing wrong with...

Mowing Grass - Help With My Next Mower, Please

^^^^ PM sent. The big difference with regards to steering and performance of the standard vs. commercial Cub mowers is wheel size and weight. The commercial Pro Z’s have larger wheels and a lot more weight to maintain better traction on challenging terrain. It’s not recommended, but I’ve...

    Extreme Newbie w 5 Acres

Where are you located in WA? I’m near Olympia. There’s a couple dealers I can recommend. A BX will more than likely do what you need. A B2601 would be better. But, as some guys have already mentioned, you may want to consider a larger machine. I started with a B2601 and now have an L2501...

L2501 Turbo: A Journey Defined - The tractor, The comparison, The modification, The results...

Excellent! I’m sure that with the new gauge setup, close monitoring and some minor adjustments you’ll be producing more power. Mike

    Add turbo

At max load? I can’t remember which Turbo you’re using. Mike

    Add turbo

What gauge are you using? I bet you’re making more than 5psi under heavy load situations. My ISSPro combo EGT/Boost gauge isn’t super accurate for PSI but, does a good job for EGT and I’m much more comfortable monitoring the EGT’s during heavy use with the Turbo. Mike

Have some dealer's not got the memo COVID is in the rear view mirror?

^^^^^ Yeah, it’s still a strange market with some dealers trying to charge MSRP (some over MSRP, lol) and others willing to deal. I recently purchased a CanAm Maverick and I ran into the same thing. But, finally found a dealer that was realistic to the market conditions and offered a...

    L2502 Power

The L2502 uses a new injection pump and several engine components have been moved to alternate locations when compared to the L2501. So you can’t just bolt-on something from the L2501. That said, I’ll be looking at Turbocharging an L2502 in the near future. We’re just trying to do a bit...

L2501 Turbo: A Journey Defined - The tractor, The comparison, The modification, The results...

Yes, absolutely! We have been in contact and his videos are excellent. Very thorough and provide a TON of great information. I used some of his data (along with several others) for comparisons earlier in this thread. We have a great community. I’m just waiting for NetMagi’s request for a...

    Looking to purchase

The BX certainly isn’t too big. I’d recommend looking at both the BX and B series tractors. Definitely get the 60” mower. Mike

Binders and Chains or Ratchet Straps

I use self-contained 3 inch ratchet straps in a diagonal pattern from USA Ratchet. I don’t tow/transport very often but, haven’t had any issues or straps coming loose. Mike

L2501 Turbo: A Journey Defined - The tractor, The comparison, The modification, The results...

Thank you! Yes, that is the correct place to place an order. ETA is currently 4-6 weeks. We haven’t reached any definitive answer on the timing mod/Turbo combination. Additional testing on more tractors are needed. However, what we believe is happening, is that by removing shims on the pump...

L2501 Turbo: A Journey Defined - The tractor, The comparison, The modification, The results...

Thank you! I’m really really happy with the new down pipe! But, should I be ‘butt-hurt’ that guys are now getting L2501 Turbo Kits that a better than mine? It doesn’t seem fair. We’ll be ready when you are. No worries. Mike

^^^^ I wouldn’t mess with it until you have your gauges installed and see where you’re at. You may actually want more boost at elevation…depending on your fuel settings and overall performance. At the very least you had the EGT and that’s most important for engine health. Mike
