    Trailer ramp problems

I could talk trucks with you all day. You have a nice truck! A family member just bought a new 2022 GMC 3500 Denali with the Duramax / 10 speed. It is a very quick truck. I'm well aware even though it says "Allison" on the emblem it is really a GM-built HD 10 speed that is mostly just a...

    Guns...Times have changed...

No. You're falling into the trap that somehow guns are at fault, and if we could "limit" them in someway, we could save lives. When it comes to your freedoms, never give an inch. Once those freedoms are relinquished, they rarely return. Let me put it this way. Suppose I wanted to kill people at...

    Trailer ramp problems

That is flat out nuts. People are clueless. I saw a guy trying to tow a KX080 behind a GMC Sierra 2500 ....20,000lbs of excavator and probably 7,000lbs of trailer behind a 2500 Denali that probably had 2000lbs of payload. The truck was doing the Carolina Squat and all I could hope was that he...

    Trailer ramp problems

With loaded rear tires, a loader, and a basic rear implement the L4701 can weigh in excess of 6,000lbs. A significant trailer should be used, and most already have ramps built in or included for specific use with such a trailer. I would imagine a trailer with a 6,000+ lb payload would need to...

    Guns...Times have changed...

None of these "mass shootings" have any impact on how I feel about the right of an American citizen to own and bear firearms. The 2A was written by our founding fathers for the express purpose of the citizen to be able to say "NO" to the government when the government overstepped it's bounds...

    Trailer ramp problems

I would just use a ratchet strap on each ramp to secure them while loading and unloading the tractor. The solutions offered above are better, but for the short term a strap would be fine. An L4701 is a significant tractor, so be aware of that. Posting a picture of your current trailer / ramp...

Kubota L2500DT Normal Operating Temperature and Operating Time

180F is a very good operating temp. With the tractor completely cool, you can always use a low pressure garden hose to clean the radiator cores out since this is the usual reason a tractor overheats. Also verify the coolant is topped up. You can run a tractor all day, every day.

    MX condenser screen is worthless

Well, the condenser is not the same. The compressor is, but not the condenser. It might still be the same size but with different mounts. The L4060 screen is $50, and the guides are about $18 per side. I was thinking of buying the screen anyway, since it is still a better fit than the factory...

    MX condenser screen is worthless

Yeah, I’m going to try to fab up a better screen. I might buy the one from the L60 series since I believe the condenser is the same. Just need to figure out how to get it out the side. Probably the drivers side since the accumulator / driver is on the passenger side.

    MX condenser screen is worthless

Lol, I understand. I’ve mowed for years on open station tractors. The thing is, without AC in a cab tractor, you’re basically in a greenhouse. All you can open is the back window which does very little.

    MX condenser screen is worthless

So I spent a few hours on a hot day last week out in a tall field just running a flail mower. Grass was pushing up to nearly the top of the hood. Mine is an MX 6000 cab model. After about an hour, the AC started to get warm. After 75 minutes, the temp gauge climbed. I shut down to clean the...

    Traded L4060HSTC for MX6000 cab

Well, a combine with an HST trans is running a cutting head so I'm going to consider that the same as a PTO. Let's not pretend that only the PTO makes heat - heat sources can be from any use of the hydraulic fluid, including the front end loader (if equipped), power steering, 3-point lift, drive...

    Traded L4060HSTC for MX6000 cab

These days, lots of heavy construction equipment use HST transmissions too. This includes wheel loaders, excavators, and dozers. We're talking far more than 70HP and far more weight than almost any tractor. Even large ag tractors are running CVT transmissions now and no longer gears and a...

    Traded L4060HSTC for MX6000 cab

Ah, so unless you are an engineer, it doesn’t count. My hundreds of hours of mowing during the hot summer months, AC wide open, are of no value. Mow up a steep hill with thick grass, back down, move over, repeat a hundred or more times, no overheat. And that sneaky Kubota, selling you...

    Traded L4060HSTC for MX6000 cab

I'm not devaluing your "opinion," as opposed to your post which I certainly disagree with. "Massive" 200 "+" HP tractors is what I said. Not that 200HP was massive, but more in regards to size, especially relative to the compact or utility class tractors we're speaking of here. Certainly a 200HP...

    Traded L4060HSTC for MX6000 cab

I'm not devaluing your opinion, but surely you must take the manufacturer into account. For example, do you suppose reputable companies like Kubota and Deere do not extensively test their HST systems in a variety of climate conditions with a variety of loads? Furthermore, in a model series, why...

    Traded L4060HSTC for MX6000 cab

In my opinion experience the HST transmission works just fine for heavy mowing. Plowing sod? That’s probably a bit much for HST

Most terrifying moment on a tractor in years

As someone who burns a lot of diesel for a living, I am livid. My 60 gallon transfer tank keeps getting refilled for close to $6/gal (off-road red diesel) so I can run my side business. The diesel pickup ferrying the tractor on a big trailer (along with other equipment) to and from jobs is...

    L2501 HST basic operation questions

I've owned an L2501 - never had any problem shifting into and out of 4x4 on the fly, so long as the front and rear wheels are not turning at different speeds (not spinning or turning). The clutch is required for engaging the PTO, which is the yellow lever on the side of the seat. You would only...

    B2601 running cooler.

Likely the hard work of digging clay caused the hydraulic system t get hotter than normal. If I recall the cooler for the hydraulics is in front of the radiator. The excess heat in the hydraulic cooler helped heat the air as it passed into the radiator, making the engine temp warmer than usual...
