Diesel smoke puffs upon acceleration L4310

Thanks guys. I was thinking of putting some additive in it. I think what’s abnormal is that it never used to do this.

Diesel smoke puffs upon acceleration L4310

So I have a 2002 L4310 with 620 hours on it. It’s used for flail mowing. The tractor would always let out a quick puff of dark smoke upon startup. No problem. Now it’s letting out a puff of smoke when I stab the throttle pedal or quickly increase the hand throttle. The smoke might have hints of...

    Two Schools of Thought

I try to always help. It's one thing if a neighbor is well off and can easily afford to hire someone and simply wants to use you for free labor. It's another if someone doesn't have a lot of means and cannot afford to hire it out but needs to get it done. I like the barter system...I'll help...

    Replacing front hub seals L4310

Thanks for the link, Dick. I think it is a do-able job. Should I replace just the top leaking seal, or the other seals inside? What is your opinion of the L4310? From your other thread, it seems you think the older Kubotas were better? Interestingly, I have a 2013 B2920...much smaller, but...

    Replacing front hub seals L4310

I have a 2002 L4310 which is suddenly leaking a decent amount of oil out the left hub. Two questions: 1. What fluid should be put in here? Do you fill it at the rubber plug on the axle? 2. How hard it disassembly and replacement of the seal?

    Worklight circuit location on L4310

This is likely what I'll do as well. I've already bought an inline fuse kit. The B-series wires were small but the fuse is listed at 20A. I'd be amazed if those small wires could handle 20A.

    Battery cables L4310

OK, so my 2002 L4310 with 525 hours still has the original "GX" battery. It is starting fine, but I was doing some checking. The negative cable seems to be extremely stiff...like maybe all the copper inside is badly corroded? Is this normally this stiff? The positive cable feels very normal and...

    Worklight circuit location on L4310

So, I've mounted 3 LED work lights on the ROPs bar of my L4310...but I cannot find the "work light" circuit. On my B2920 it was located right under the right fender...just two bullet plugs. I see nothing like this under either fender of the L4310. There is a "Work Light Circuit" labeled in the...

    Instrument panel backlighting B2920

Anyone have a B2920 / 2620 / 2320 series of tractor? My 2013 B2920 instrument panel lights up very nice...except for the gauge needles. So it is kind of useless. Are the needles supposed to light up when the headlights are on? I have this tractor since it only had 24 hours on it and the needles...

Difference between LA681 and LA682 loader

Thanks for the info. I wonder what exactly is different about the frame. Personally, I dislike the extra loader bracing that runs from the brush guard all the way back to the loader frame uprights. Since this tractor does not have an opening "hood" it makes it very difficult to slide the...

Difference between LA681 and LA682 loader

Hi, I have a 2002 Kubota L4310 tractor with a LA682 loader. However, all the specs I can find show this tractor should be equipped with an LA681 loader. Anyone know the difference, if any? Thanks in advance.

Side-slopes: If my B2920 could do it, can my L4310?

In fairness, I've done this job for two years mowing across the slopes and have been fine. This year I'm using the bigger machine and hence these questions. I know the field pretty well.

Side-slopes: If my B2920 could do it, can my L4310?

Shucks, I didn't see Grouse Feather's calculations until now. Here's a little more info: both tractors have R4 industrial tires. For the past two seasons, the B2920 was "stock." This year, I had the rear tires loaded to 80% and added 2" wheel spacers, widening the track by 4". The L4310...

Do I need to replace hydraulic fluid or just filter?

I'm going to bite the bullet and change the fluid and filter. Where could I dispose of 11 gallons of old Super UDT?

Side-slopes: If my B2920 could do it, can my L4310?

Thanks for all the advice, guys. I think it's mostly in my head. I will be careful.

Side-slopes: If my B2920 could do it, can my L4310?

How will I be able to "pry" the tractor to tip when it weighs 5,000lbs or more? Also, a moving tractor is less stable than a stationary one. I dunno. This just feels worse to me than the little B2920. It could be because that tractor is considerably shorter.

Do I need to replace hydraulic fluid or just filter?

It looks like the S-UDT will cost me about $200 for 10 gallons. I still have a gallon or so hanging around from the other tractor which should fill it completely. Filter isn't too expensive.

Do I need to replace hydraulic fluid or just filter?

Hi, Just bought a 2002 L4310 GST. It has 475 hours on it, one owner. The original owner said he always did yearly engine oil / filter changes, but that the fuel filter and hydraulic fluid / filter were original. I can see that the hydraulic suction filter is original because it is still painted...

Side-slopes: If my B2920 could do it, can my L4310?

For some reason this L "feels" a lot scarier than the B on the same slopes. Maybe it's just my inexperience with this larger tractor.
